Oops...didn't know you had checked a manual, (didn't say), but I was sure it'd show an exploded view so you could see hose connections.

So, I guess *I* will be in trouble also...if MY scooter ever has that GTS (?) fuel pump issue (and the warranty will be expiring shortly)!

I wonder if Haynes (or Helm) puts out a serious service/shop manual for Vespa (with late/current models covered that is). If so, I hope THEY are more detailed.

Hopefully, one of the Vespa technicians here will be able to answer you...where's Greasy when you need him? Laughing emoticon

On the fitting, theres 2 tabs either side, push them in and the connector pulls off...

Hi- Thanks so much for the feed back!

Apologies on the lack of description on my part in my original post. The bike is a 09 GTS 250- I was a little frustrated when I originally posted as I had just learned the 2 year extended warranty that came with the bike ws no longer valid.

Again, thank for the feedback.

You might want to try the newly licensed Vespa dealer in downtown Toronto,
They are licensed by Piaggio at the BMW dealership on Sunlight road.

(Broadview and Eastern ave)

They might honour that 2 year extended warranty,
When did you purchase your 09 GTS?

My 2009 GTS250ie is in the shop now waiting for its fuel pump to get here. It failed at 488 miles. The Vespa Service Rep acknowledged to my service manager that there were factory defects in some of th pumps and authorized replacement even though they could not duplicate the failure once it was brought into the shop.

I would try again with the Vespa rep - if it is a factory defect, they ought to at least give you the part, if not the labor, even if you are beyond the warranty.

Thanks for all the feedback- I purchased in Dec 08..I will definately keep the dealer in T.O. in mind for service intervals.

I jsut put the bike back together and it is back alive!

I honestly don't wish replacing a fuel pump on a GTS to anyone.

That was hell, many hours.

fuel pump issues GTS 300
Just a word to the wise. Watch where you are purchasing the fuel pump from. although the part numbers are the same if the place of purchase has had it on the shelf for over 8 months it is probably the old one that is faulty. there was a back order on the new updated fuel pump. piaggio kept same part number but rectified the heating issues of the pump. Vespa Bulington and BMW Toronto as far as I know are the only present piaggio dealers that can obtain the correct pump in GTA. So to the person whom has had two fail I would look into that.
