Hi,

I'm new to this site and own a 07 Piaggio MP3 250 i.e. (second owner)

I don't live close to any dealers and will have a standard cycle
shop give the bike a good going over. It has 11,123 km and I want to
get it fully serviced but I also want it checked for any problems that
this model may have.

1.) Can anyone tell me what problems this model may have?

2.) How do I check for these problems (give steps to a mechanic
who never worked on a Piaggio can follow).?

3.) How Can I Fix these problems (give steps to a mechanic
who never worked on a Piaggio can follow)?

This forum is great and has tons of info but It can be time consuming
to find important info in the crush of posts.

It would be great if we had on a site or this forum a FAQ on the
MP3 models 250, 400 and 500 or TECH tips in PDF with pictures or
text files. This way if someone had a problem with the brakes
(for example) they could look up Brake problems under TECH
tips and down load one file with all the brake problems and fixes.

One site I find great but for another brand scooter is
http://www.ch250.net/techtips.htm that lists problems
and fixes in a very fast and efficient way.

I'm sure given enought time most problems and fixes are already here
but Organising them can save everyone some time. I think it would also
be great to have a "buyers guide" or "what to look for" when buying a
used MP3 to help new buyers/owners instead of spending hours or days
looking & searching for info.

Thanks for your help in advance.

let us know where u are? Could be some local help available. Short of the top posting of checking the radiator hose by the fan, nothing jumping out of urgent review. Some people have had sudden stalls while riding, and first thing to do; is switch the red emergency switch back and forth to reafirm the contacts inside. Solved my issue for almost a year, before doing it again. Lots of good information, but more oriented for the self mechanic. But good to know also in general. Best of luck.

If you and your mech are working together, this site posted by StooterBoy is where you look for how to do stuff to that machine.

Link To Service & Owners Manuals
www.scootermanuals.us/manuals

It may even be worth your while to print out the manuals that pertain to your MP3. You certainly want to download them.

Problems are usually addressed on this board as they come up and get talked to death.

If you have an experienced guy, he could do the usual tune-up things and safety checks. Then you can take care of things as/if they come up.

Now that it's yours, you might ask the previous owner if there are any little problems that he forgot to mention. Wha? emoticon
