Modern Vespa

I just bought a Lambretta LI 150 Series 1
(or I think i did...)

Scooterhelp says it should run on 4% oil mix, but the previous owner says he always used a 2% mix.

What do you think? 4% or 2%
He also said he changed the piston some time ago wich of course could be a result of that.

in the 50s/60s the oil grade was much worse then what we have today, theyd usually run just 30w oil, at 4%, but with modern synthetics you can get away with 2-3%, id run just a little over 2% of your choice of oil just to be safe. thats a good looking S1.

Being a little wary of bodges it was good to know it was sold new in Sweden in -58. Also the electrics are mostly restored and all wires are brand new.
I took the first ride today with my daughter and it was epic

I run 3% in my series 2 TV but had been running 2% for years with no issue. My switch to 3% was only because I changed oil.

2% is fine if the engine is standard...nice ride...
