I am trying to do some/lots of research re the Vespa. I have done long distance riding on my last motorcycle. I just bought a diesel pusher motorhome so i did not think i would need the big bike anymore and just sold it. I would like to get something to put on my rear bumper via a Versahaul or similar ramp. I have not had the opportunity yet to ride a vespa to see if i would like it. It does have the charisma and looks like high fun factor...but do not know how a 250 might feel on the highway or wherever. I am aware the wheels are small and that has a negative effect on handling.
I do want to purchase used.....i am only guessing that i might like a 250...on of the GT series or grandtorismo ...not sure of the models
I do need suggestions....any input would be appreciated.
thank you, allen

also is there something special about a ET4 ?

Not sure what you mean by smaller wheels having a negative effect on handling. I don't think that's the case. If you're used to a motorcycle it will be a little different but they handle well and, at least speaking for mine, are very stable at even highway speeds. I own an ET4 and I really love it. It is a 150 though and I see you were interested in something a little bigger. The ET4 or LX150 can still do pretty good on short stretches of highway. Top speeds of around 65-70 depending on mods, etc. Hope that helps a little.

Smaller wheels do make for less confidence at high speeds. If youre and experienced rider its not something you wont get used to. With time you will become very comfortable on a 250 on the highway, but you may find yourself finding backroads.

Another option is the BV250 or Scarabeo 250. Same great Piaggio engine and bigger wheels.

If you are coming off a bike try and get a good price on a 300cc.
