Hello,

This is going to be my first bike ever and I am really excited... both 200L and ET4 are going for about the same price and same year, same mileage etc..
As I said ive never owned a bike before and im only going to be using it within Atlanta to go to work and go out on weekends to some games, movies, friends house etc.. its going to be my means of transportation within the city.
Is the 200L going to be to much to handle and should I settle for the Et4?
which one looks nicer? i dont want a reaaally big bike is the 200L really big?
can someone just give me some patient information since im new in all these?

thank you very much.

The ET4 is a wonderfully nimble city scoot. It's classy and reliable. A bit heavier, but better suited to some highway riding, the GT is a fine example of modern Vespa engineering.

City streets only w/o a passenger, hands down the ET4.
Favorite mate on the back with highway runs, the GT.

Mine will be an unpopular reply ... most will say that bigger is better. But I had both of those scooters in my garage, and when it was time to let one go, I kept the ET4 and never felt like I was "settling." I just liked it better. As louisq said, it suits the kind of riding I do ... mostly around town w/o a passenger. But it will carry a passenger just fine, and I do take it on the freeway from time to time. I never wished I'd kept the GT instead, but if I had to ride on the freeway every day, I might feel differently. Of course, it would have been nice if I could have kept both ...

Not at all unpopular! I had hoped my wife would have embraced getting her license. I originally really wanted a pair of ET4's or LX's. Your ET has the best lines of any MV! A great performer even with a fat guy on it's back!

It all comes down to that question about highway riding at higher speeds. The GT can certainly do that better than an ET or LX. If you don't need that capability, I'd say the ET4 is the better choice for in town riding.

I have the ET and I love it. I have used it as my daily commuter in town (15 miles each way with speed limits up to 45, so im doing at least 50) everyday for the last 3 years, have done some longer (100 mile) country rides, and the wife and I run errands on it every weekend. I haven't ridden the 200, but I have never felt the need for more cc's.

I also have a 800cc cruiser that I put 12,000 miles on in the four years I had it before I got my ET. In the last three years my cruiser has only traveled 1500 miles while my Vespa has racked up 9,000.

I guess the point of this rant is I love my ET and I think you couldn't ask for a better scoot.
