So I figured out first hand that the white ABOVE the orange on the gauge means empty. Thank goodness for husbands who bring a gallon of gas to their wife in the mall parking lot.. Now that is love. Razz emoticon

Glad it worked out. Bummer, yet again, that Vespa cheaped out on the instrumentation on the 300 and omitted the tripmeter that is standard on the old 250GTS.

I guess the only thing reliable is the clock and temp gauge? The speedo is off too. I should replace the gauges with a decorative picture or something....

It was strange. It appeared I had 1/3-1/4 tank left, rode 7 miles or so, stopped for lunch, then it wouldn't restart but the gauge was reading in the white still above the orange. I barely hit 300 miles on my scoot and already ran out of gas once. LOL Clown emoticon

DOn't know about the temp gauge but there was a thread a while back where a number of people found the clock to run fast or slow. Fortunately, my clock runs perfectly on time.

Best

And this is what has kept me from buying a 300. No tripmeter and a lousy, inaccurate fuel gauge.

My temp gauge always shows that I'm overheating. I think it's safe to say that none of the gauges are very reliable!

The fuel gauge o my LX shows 3/4ths full when the tank is to-the-brim full. When the fuel light comes on then I need to get gas..and I could still probably do another 20 miles. But it is a minor quirk for me.

I think given this information about most gauges being inaccurate, it is best to up my membership and pay my renewal dues to my H.U.G.S. (Husband User Gas Service).

But I hear that the take-off is better, so you quicker get to the point where you run out of gas
