Fools Ride Over Georgia

In the August U S Rider news is an article stating that the "Georgia Sheriffs Association sponsors World Record Attempt at largest scooter ride in Georgia.... It will "put the fun back in fund raiser".

It will start April 1 in Brunswick, GA and end April 4 in Helen and is completely escorted by law enforcement. Registration is limited to 150 for safety reasons. Participants must provide own scooter and raise $1000 in donations for Georgia Sheriffs Youth Homes.

Ride will be a couple hundred miles each day (not a straight ride between Brunswick and Helen.)

Guinness Book Of World Records has accepted the ride for possible certification as the worlds largest Law Enforcement Scooter Ride. If accepted each participant will be sworn in as a special deputy for the weekend.

Heard a rumor that there was a charity ride being planned for the length of GA. I'm in Brunswick, so guess I'll try to get in on this one. I think the whole April Fool's thing is appropriate. You can't really get to Helen from here!
