Hey guys I am buying a new lx150 this week. My guy at the dealership said he tried to call vespa in Italy to order my side stand and new vespa grips and he said they are away for the next 3 weeks. Is he bs'ing? Also can I order the items for a website and bring them to the dealership so they can put them on? If so what site can I go to to buy the new vespa grips and side stand? I wanna make sure these items are authentic as well. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!
Many businesses in Europe take the month of August off for vacation. (or as they say, "holiday". The items that you are looking for can be purchased from Motorsport Scooters (aka Scooter West). It really doesn't matter if you buy the Vespa branded sidestand or the aftermarket one. We have one of each on our scooters and they are nearly identical.
Well, he's not "bs"ing about many Italian businesses being closed for holiday during much of August. On the other hand, what is this stuff about your dealer "calling Italy" to get a side stand and a pair of hand grips. They are readily available from many stateside suppliers. Does this guy really have no idea where to obtain parts and accessaries?
thx for the advice guys. i went on motor scooter parts store and found a cool side stand. as for the grips, im kinda unsure what to get. i wasn't liking any of the grips on motor scooter parts store. Does anyone know of a cool pair of black hand grips for a LX150? Any ideas i would appreciate it. thx guys
Also can I order the items for a website and bring them to the dealership so they can put them on?
I ordered my rear crash bars and then brought them to the dealer where I bought my vespa and had them throw those on when they did the 625 check up. I don't think most dealers would care. You're still paying them labor to install an item.
