Hi,

I took the Basic Rider Course when I got my license two years ago, and also at that time read carefully the writings of people like Pat Hahn and David Hough.

I would like to do something else, in the vein of further training. But the Experienced Rider Course explicitly does not allow scooters in Maryland.

I have started rereading Hahn and Hough, and also some of the "Ride Like a Pro" materials. But I wonder if there is any sort of course that might be worth taking, preferably with some sort of on-road or practical component.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks,

-matt

Total Control
I took the "Total Control" course, with my scooter when I lived there. It was a good course. Let me know if you need me to track down the information....

As the states are pretty small there, can you take the Experienced Rider Course in another state?... on a scooter?

Thanks very much for the suggestions. I hadn't thought of Total Control. I've seen the book but didn't realize that there were also courses, and in my area to boot. The FAQ doesn't state that scooters are permitted, so I'll have to look into that further.

Thanks again,

Looks like Virginia may allow scooters at some places: http://www.nvcc.edu/wdce/alexandria/specialized/intermediate.htm

Pennsylvania does allow scooters to be used in both the basic and experienced rider courses.
