Will the 500 alternator support additional lighting and heated clothing?

yes, keep it to jacket and pants for clothing you could also do grips. As far as lights what do you have in mind? If you do LED ones should not be an issue at all as suppletmental lights even as extra tail lites

I believe the total power available is about 15 watts, but that would be with the engine at throttle. I'd allow for some margin to that number. The accessories you mentioned will have the power draw in their sales information.

think it will handle about 6 amps at idle and 12 amp range running. LEDs pull about 1 amp, my radio 3 amps?, heated grips 4 amps, heated coat 4 amps, heated gloves 2 amps, gps 2 amps, digital speedo 1 amp, buglar alarm ?, besides the normal running lights when running. With just LEDs, speedo, and radio at idle, my voltmeter barely holds around 12v output.
