Modern Vespa

Seeing this cartoon on 2 Stroke Buzz had me chuckling. It certainly reflects some of the typical criticisms that other riders used to pour on me. At least until I started showing up places in the snow.

I posted some further reactions on SCOOTER IN THE STICKS but thought it warranted sharing the picture here amongst all my fellow minivan riders....

It's really funny, this was posted here at least twice before this. The first time, it got a lot of happy chuckles. The second time everyone got offended and the thread was locked as a "trolling" and this time people seem to like it again.

Are there any cartoons about vespa riders being fickle?

I think I look extremely cool on my Vespa......if you disagree, keep it to yourself, please!!!! If I knew I looked like a big goof I might not ride as often or have as much fun!

The cartoon is actually a snippet from 6 Reasons to Ride a Polar Bear to Work. The Oatmeal has some hilarious stuff.

My wife takes a dim view of my Vespa addiction. I don't dare share this with her. I think she'd prefer it if I got a chopper + plus joined a gang + had my new buds over for beers in the driveway.

Thank heavens I'm old enough to enjoy it in spite of what others may think.

My wife is OK with me riding the Vespa but has been less than happy with the loophole I found in the no motorcycles agreement when I started reviewing BMWs, Triumphs, Ducatis, and other machines for a local dealer. So I'm careful not to describe how smooth a BMW 1200 RT is at 90mph on the expressway.

And I have not forgotten about your print. I have just been overwhelmed of late and haven't seemed to get up the gumption to walk down to the post office. But when you least expect it a print will arrive in your mailbox...

Nope not an S. It's got round head light, round mirrors, tan seat and front shock is not red. Phew...

I personally like the minivan reference. Minivans are practical. You can fit a whole sheet of plywood in one if you remove the seats. They get good gas mileage and are less likely to have a rollover accident. They are pretty cheap to buy too. SUVs are just the opposite and really impractical for most people. They are just an image and nothing else.

The stuff I hear like this, The less excited I am for my new Vespa, I just bought it but I don't come home from Iraq to ride it for another month
