I feel like I've seen this one before. Mostly, I'm impressed that the bondo isn't cracking off yet given the amount of rust on exposed metal.
Interestingly, someone put an OKO side draft carb on it, but they also put on (or tolerated) a kickstart lever that sticks into the next lane of traffic. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/321057493640259 |

Gona have to put some pictures of the headlight wiring of my recently purchased PK here once I clean it up. Must have been done by someone completely ignorant to how electricity
The low beam started cutting out about a week ago, but the high was still working, and then that also failed. Obv suspected bulb but no, filament is intact. One of the contacts was charred thought. Cleaned that and it worked for a bit further but this Sunday i was just leaving my friend's place and noticed I had no headlight again. Cleaned off some shmoo put on the parking light GND connection, so now that works for the first time since I took ownership but the headlight is still gone... Saw one of those horrid "no solder splice" connectors when I had the headlight out last time so I think I'm just going to start over with the headlight wiring if that's the level it's been done at |

So still new to Vespas, only got my PK125XL a few weeks ago. Didn't notice that the parking light was out when I bought it and didn't think much of it until the low beam started cutting out. Had to ride home through the city with my high beams on a few days and then the high beam cut out too. So now I was left with no headlight...
Removed the headlight and checked the bulbs, filament looked good but the contacts on the 35/35W were charred black. Cleaned them off and I had the low and high beam back... Until i didn't. All lights went out again, removed the headlight again, all looked good, removed the GND connector and noticed it was covered in black smooo... Cleaned that off, and it was back to working again. For about two days. Finally removed the entire headlight assembly and noticed that one of the wires to the 35/35W bulb had one of those no-solder-splice devil's on them... Cut it off, cleaned everything again, bent the contacts slightly for better contact, crimped a new connector properly and now everything works, even the parking light. Noticed that the wire with the splice was slightly melted too, it was probably down to just one or two strands in there still connected These are actual pure evil. You can also see that one of the headlight connectors is black from heat because of the poor contact...
