Im really kinda confused. And this is not some humorous question, Im serious. Who would spend over 5k on a vintage vespa and not do a small amount of research on them?
And why dont any of the sellers try to un-asian them a little bit? ie. put 8 inch wheels on, get rid of some of the stupid two tone paint and seats, get rid of the yellow stand boots etc....? It seems lazy. |

It seems lazy. Seeing the shiny new paint, the chrome all over, and the fact that it will start when kicked, unless you know better, you don't care. Ignorance is bliss, right up until the point you're aware of it. |

Thoughts? http://slo.craigslist.org/mcy/3577941771.html The motorcycle shop on Monterey St. assured me they are genuine Vespas not some chinese knock offs Mass chrome, funky seats, the wings, gas tank gasket, not from China but they are "Fresh off the boat." Vespa knock-offs at best. |

They're both Indo and hard to say from just a pic and not very close at that.
It does appear someone has painted and blinged them a bit. It's nice they are not converted but........ |

looks ok from the photos. but since its from egypt i would be wary of very high miles.
most 2nd and 3rd world bikes were driven hundreds of thousands of miles since most were daily runners. i would want more detailed looks in undersides and insides. dont trust the odometer either. |
