Lammy auto conversions aren't that uncommon. Iv seen a few. Some home made with some very nice engineering. Some done by lambretta inovations in UK. Who, do a really nice disc set up by the way. The paint work and such is what puts me off on this particular one

***1959 Vespa Piaggio*** - $1200 (Oberlin, KS)
So, it's my first post and recently my first "real" scoot ('03 Stella), though some of you may disagree, but even I'm offended by this one.
Notice the GY6 style head poking out of a hole cut in the frame and the two-sided fork poorly hidden under the front fender. Chinese gy6 vespa. I bet it has antilock brakes. http://denver.craigslist.org/mcy/3844446085.html "This is a completely updated 1959 Piaggio. It has all new mechanicals which came from a 2008 scooter. The body is original and has been clear-coated to preserve the original patina . It runs and drives great. I'm asking $1200 or best offer. Thanks Dave" ![]() ![]() [/i] |

Saw that earlier today....dont even know what to say...
"The body is original and has been clear-coated to preserve the original patina ." Yes, because original includes a quilt looking glove box. |

Isnt a bodge, sorry! But 'for spares or brave restoration'
seriously is this even able to be restored in any way? Correct me if I am wrong, but I see nothing salvageable here, other than for reference http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Douglas-Vespa-for-spares-or-brave-restoration-/271217738046?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item3f25d6413e |

Something here spells bodge. Alarm bells ringing where I see it says free shipping then list various countries they ship to! |

I live in Bangkok and yeah, there are plenty of bodges here. The thing is the people who work on these scooters in Asia really have no concept of how dangerous they can be as everyone rides them in a knackered state. Vespa mechanics and parts are easy to come by and are cheap so its easy to get them fixed etc.
The really worrying thing is when arseholes in England and the States who DO understand that they are selling pieces of shit to unsuspecting customers are getting away with it. It's so crooked and it blows my mind that it's not illegal. THEY'RE NOT SELLING WHAT THEY SAY THE'RE SELLING!!!!!!!!! Jeez!!! ![]() |

The scooter has 4 gears and kick start ....fun to ride and a real head turner!!!' that was a quote from the add Two minutes later I find planet vespa, and too much surprise.. http://planetvespa.net/ the rest of the site. ![]() this was the text on the websites homescreen

Some white dude from England figures out how to take piled up junkers and turn them into shopping kart items for people to clicky on. What happens to them at that stage is not ruined just more like coated with shiney things and somewhat rebuilt motors and new cables. The whole battle I wage is why would someone from the states buy one when you can get another bike right here in the lower 48. If I lived over there I would be friends with the guy working on that so I could hobble my own ride together. |

![]() Pretty sure it's staying, just gonna be a putt putt around machine I think. Oh shit, NO 10" LML 'lectric start motor then! Original partial motor is frozen toast. Excuse the blatant jack but I guess it will be a bodge. You have been warned. Do NOT purchase this deathtrap on rotted tires if offered FOR SALE ![]() |

Ok may have been a bit quick to label this as a nammer without closer inspection but it just looks too eerily similar to one I saw up close a few years back which I know for a fact was a bodge and just so happened to have the added glovebox, trim around tool box door, indian locks and switches, stainless pipe, chrome stand, bolts instead of studs and nuts on engine case etc.... just my 2cents.

I don't know about the Lambretta.. but Original accessories can be awesome.. and people who don't know just think BODGE.. it's the patchwork welds, the P centermats on VBBs and Supers, the gloveboxes, and the coke can shims that make 'em bodges.. not the accessories.. not the double leg shield trim... and not even the yellow booties!
