is there something with the gas cap? I cant make it out. hmmm |

OK youse mugs....discussion starts.....NOW!
http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/mcy/3995927742.html
1971 VESPA VBB WITH SIDECAR You are bidding on a True Classic Vespa VBB. Not only it's in Showroom Condition. It's basically Brand New and has all the Added Features and Bling to not only be an Eye Catcher, but a True Classic. bought this Five Years ago. Basically having gone through the Engine, the Body and every Inch of this Classic. So all the Parts are Originally Italian, but also had to run through every inch from Head to toe to dial in The Finishing touches. So once Received, broke down Each Piece from the Tires to the Handlebars and have restored it to Vespa Standards. This alone took me almost a year and enjoyed every minute feeling that it was being built correctly for not only a smooth ride, but also a Ride that will last forever. had the Vespa Painted British Racing Green. Find another Vespa anywhere with this Color. Like said, when bought this, wanted it to be an Outcast from Day one. After Dialing in The Side Car with the Vespa . look back to the Mod Days and wanted Not only to be a Classic, but to Be a Eye Catcher . Added Front Rack Crash Bars Side Cowls with Foot pegs Back Rest with Pads and Spare tire Carried with Spare Tire and Cover Matching Green Color on the Pad and Spare Tire Cover. License Plate with Green Tag Holders Bullets and Stabilizer. Everything is Bright and Shiny, but preferred Stainless over Chrome for the Durability But polished up, you can't tell the Difference. The Rims have Chrome Star Caps and in the back MUD Flaps. also have a New Matching Green Front Seat Leather, but have not switched it yet. For Engine Performance, added a Stainless Steel 166 Malossi Race Muffler 30MM Delorto . This to me brings the Pinging sound of the Engine and the Performance to another level. The Ports are Dialed in and Tuned to match. But the Engine is Brand new. only have 350 Original Miles on this engine and after 500 miles the Port can be opened up for even more Speed. So the Engine is still on Baby Steps for another 150 miles, before you can really open it up . Its Runs great, but its built for Cruising, not racing. Also as Sturdy as the Sidecar is, it Pulls very nicely and smooth and the Sidecar with passenger is not a Factor on Turns or Pulling power. The Sidecar can easily hold a Passenger 200lbs and with me being close to 190. Its still is a very smooth ride. It's a 4 speed Clutch and have lubed all the Gear wires for smooth shifting and also comes with Piaggio Tool kit and plenty of clutch and Brake cables and Many other accessories for the long road trip. The Side Car has a Large Storage compartment like the Scooter and has lock boxes on both. have the Original canvas covers for storage for both sidecar and scooter. If you find a need to just want to ride the Vespa without the sidecar. It's as easy as 5 bolts And off you go , but assembled . It's not going anywhere. Very Stable Now for Bling , Mudflaps and Mirrors , have had as many as 12 mirrors on this and if I had my way , would still have 12 but I am down to 6 because I did not want to hear Rattles . Also did not bolt anything into the frame like most. They are tied into the Crash bars. So I love the Mod Look, but want comfort and 6 Mirrors work for me and they are universal to fit your sight and size. Also have led Lights in the storage boxes in case of night riding. But did change my lighting and I will tell you why. The Vespa runs only the mains lights, Brakes, Headlights, and Sidecar and because of the Magneto on scooters, I don't add any more current or I will fry the Magneto. So I have bought Chrome Battery lights from a Classic Bicycle and it runs off triple "A" Batteries. It's easy, it's safe and it works. I have currently had 4 chrome lights and 2 bullets on the side of the side car. I also have three Additional yellow beams in the front. All attached safely with no drilling and secured to not ruin any of the CrashBars or front Rack. So as you can see, have really pampered this and will be sadden to see it go , but I am forced to sell this . The Scooter is a clean title and even though live in California, it iscurrently registered in the State of Vermont till 2014 of May. I did this because when I received this and titled it out. California was an arm and leg to register, but it good to go in any state. Plus my plates are the same Color as Vermont . . ...Green The Scooter is sold as is and I tried to give as much information about the bike .The scooter is available to see to serious buyers only and I will ask a few questions to insure you are serious. Total Price is $4800.00 firm , will not budge on price ![]() ![]() ![]() |

vintage vespa 69 - $2950 (redondo beach) LA should create a new suburb called Bodgeville...Bodge-lywood, Bodgeington Beach, or something similar. I guess per capita the bodge-percentage is probably correct.... funny how they all "run killer" and are in the ads, but nowhere to be seen on the street. we need to have some pics of them actually on the road or parked somewhere in town. this one should be ridden by Ronald McDonald..... or our San Diego Mayor.... ![]() |

We actually don't see many bodges here in SA. This is a fine example though.

White seats, two-tone seats, any kind of weird seats, esp saddle seats. This matching saddles + spare cover combo would certainly count as another tell. "Fancy" custom upholstery is not correct on a real restoration, and customizers here in the USA do not generally go in for that much brand new exact-matching non-black vinyl.

Help!
I am new to the scooter world and am looking to buy a vintage Vespa. A friend of mine has had a 1963 150 in her garage for about 3 years she bought off the internet and knows less about scooters than I do. I have been looking through this forum for a couple of hours now and I am concerned it is a bodge. I have a couple of pictures and am wondering if anyone can help me with it. I am planning on taking it into a shop next week to have it inspected but the guy said he might not have the most knowledge about old Vespas. If anyone knows of anyone to go to north of Seattle WA it would be much appreciated.

Not worth buying at all. |
