Not a bodge. Asia did not get Allstates and the dealers are not that smart....yet.

Theses are definitely a bodge. Two from the same seller.

1965 Vespa 150, All original/unrestored vintage Vespa. Four speed motor runs great, starts up and shifts with no problems. Could be reconditioned but excellent as is. A rare find up for trade or sale. ALL offers will be considered.

Excellent restoration with only 420 Km ( 260 ) miles .
http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/mcy/4230818131.html

Less than 100 miles since complete restoration . Carb and fuel system need cleaning----and seat needs repair due to cat claw damage . A few rusty spots , but a nice scooter now a half century old .

I almost bought this one until I gave Kyle a call. Thanks dude. Spotting them is no problem now. He was selling for $700 and after I told him that it was crap, he re-listed it for $2K???

Houston Bodge??
This seems like a bodge that someone fixed up. Nothing is said about the frame though. Seems like it has 10 inch wheels. Can anyone confirm this is a not bodge? Is this one you would have to see in person? Is there anything else indicating badge?

All indications looks like Vietnam scooter with new stuff. He mentioned he replaced gas tank to a original, replaced seats, new digital speedo (bodge speedo is usually a case only) and new engine with 12volt system. The wheel cover looks like a vespa product?

I must admit, this is one of the best ones I've seen. Except for the larger wheels. Not overloaded with chrome. I wonder if you hit a bump at 40mph will it break in half?

I am selling my 1962 VBB1 150cc Vespa. Runs great, looks even better. I've spent the past year and half completely rebuilding this scoot, and now that it's done, I'm ready for a new project. Literally, almost everything that can be changed on this scooter since I purchased it has been (minus the outer piston casing and stand legs, as there really is no need since any issue with them is strictly cosmetic and it is not in view). I'll list some of the updates below. THIS VESPA IS TITLED and is REGISTERED AS AN ANTIQUE SCOOTER IN TEXAS. Aka, this scooter is legal, legit, and ready for car shows.

Upgrades/Updates/Changes:
SIP Digital Rev Counter Speedometer (Odometer reads 5 miles at last check)
SIP Road Sport Exhaust
Upgraded driver's saddle seat, buddy seat, and sissy bar
New VLX 150cc engine (about 40 miles on it now)
New engine covers
Completely rewired, electrically (12v system conversion)
Original VBB Gas tank installed
On/On switch installed (one way flip acts as a kill switch, other way turns on electrical system)
New Air Filter
Reworked Clutch
Added front handled trigger for brake light
Left hand, rear view mirror added
Upgraded battery (huge CCA)
Spare Tire case added
Plenty of cosmetic color additions....

Needs for upgrades:
1. The headlamp could use a new cover, as the original one I had has a dent in the plastic, but for $10 you can upgrade it if it bothers you
(http://www.scooterwest.com/items/?_pageCCS=t#page=/item_details/Plastic-headlight-plastic-115mm/269)
2. There are a couple paint chips here an there from use, but nothing that I find bothersome.

$3500.
I'm open to trades, but would prefer the dough. Let me know

http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/mcy/4225292690.html

This is a 100% rebuilt original 1966 VESPA VBC Super model made in Italy with 150 cc new/newly rebuilt motor.. I have a source in Asia who finds these rare scooters for me and restores them to my exacting American expectations. So everything is brand new or the best used original parts.. so it's almost like a brand new but over 40 year old vehicle. New seats, tires and wheels, paint, accessories.. such as the chrome custom tuner exhaust pipe for cool look and sound. His and hers seats, 3 way fold down rack on back with spare tire/wheel, extra chrome, big lockable glove box, floor mat and cover ... it is loaded with cool goodies. It is street legal and the 150 CC has plenty of power to use as daily transportation to school work or market if you really want (not Freeway legal in some states), but most people use these for fun outings to zip around town and as a great collectors item that will keep or go up in value. Most of these Vespas did not survive in America due to our "use it up and throw it away" mentality of the 50s, 60s and 70s. - They are a work of art as well as running great !!!!

Ok, here is the important part to understand before you buy.. although an original Vespa scooter made by Piaggio in Italy, and it has been 100% rebuilt with mostly new parts, it is still a USED vehicle and it's OLD SCHOOL technology with kick starter, 4 speed hand shifter with clutch and you have to pre-mix the gas and oil yourself before putting in the tank.. you or your friend has to be a little mechanically inclined since the cables need to be adjusted from time to time and the spark plug changed or cleaned.. this is all very easy once you know what you are doing and is part of the fun of owning a cool vintage scooter.. but I don't want calls later from buyers who are expecting it to be like one of those brand new turn-key plastic scooters that go down in value as soon as you buy them. Like an old VW bug for example, these bikes are very simple and can run for ever but you have to be patient and be prepared to tinker with them sometimes, but ALL parts are available and with the right owner , they can run for ever.. also the bikes come with all the paperwork you need since they were imported legally into the USA for street use... you get all the importation document, bill of sale, title release, customs and EPA clearance forms etc and this is enough to title and register instantly in your home state.. in a couple of states with tough laws on international imports, like NY, NJ and Ohio, you may need to use the International Title Service ( its-titles dotcom) to help you register your bike with them, and then transfer to your state later.. their paperwork is good for a year and costs about $250 and that also keeps you from having to pay sales tax on the purchase of your scooter in most states.. in any event, I have sold dozens of these cool bikes and everyone has been able to register and enjoy them. Again, registration is the total responsibility of the buyer, but I will remain available to guide you through the process even though I am not expected to know the DMV laws of your particular state. Please enjoy all the photos will show you what I am talking about .. these are awesome bikes you can own and ride for years and then sell and most likely get your money back or even a profit later. !

why do people do this?! bodge or otherwise? if it's ten bucks and so easy to do it....do it!!! always guarantees a lazy owner who prob can't be arsed with other maintenance.

UNIQUE Vespa if you love life (insert comment here)
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kings-cross/motorcycles/unique-vespa-if-you-love-life/1033916711

I love the line in the ad that says "It is fully reconditionned, new engine and we spent more than $2,000 on upgrades to get it safely running in Australia." No doubt that's after buying it "fully reconditioned" from Vietnam.

Only $6000. A hell of a lot of bodge for the buck.

No vaccination huh? I've parked in places like that in Thailand. You have to leave the steering unlocked, and the "attendant" asks you how long you'll be and gives you a ticket to produce when you return. Very efficient service, never had a problem. In some places if you pay a few baht more they put an umbrella over your seat so keep the sun off.

Doesn't look Vietnamese. Front wheel very rarely sits that low on a VN bike. Also that seat is not common here.

Anbody heard of this mob . . . http://www.dreamscooter.net

A lad in the UK was gonna buy one of their scoots from another UK lad but he was wise to ask for advice first because it was an import.
When i seen where it came from i warned him off it - he took the advice.
It was a "minted 1964 LI" for £1250 !!
