There was a guy floating around here that has a bodge. He pops in every once and a while. I don't know if he rides it, but the engine was busted right in 1/2 and welded back together. The plate that the shock mounts to was also 1/2 assed. No bueno.

That being said, there's a guy by me who has ridden a bodge for 10 years, he says. The scoot definitely has 10 years of patina, so I believe him. It sounds pretty good and he gets around on 25mph roads just fine. I don't know how much he's dumped into it to keep it running though.

Well he took it on the chin anyway... at least he has a sense of humour. I guess the upside is a scooter that never runs never leaves oil on your marble tiles.

The blue upholstery really makes that one pop. If you frequently dressed as a clown and had a gig doing kid's parties or working under the big top, that rig would be the bill.

Is paint and fabric really cheap in third world countries? Because painting and upholstery are the only thing the bodgers do well.

I saw this get painted in Megalaya, India. Took a guy an afternoon to do it. He looked like he was starving and had clothes like the Incredible Hulk. If I had to guess, I'd think it cost around $20 U.S. to do.

I also saw a frame of a Bajaj welded in Assam, India. It cracked after hitting a pothole on a poor quality road.

To give the bodgers a modicum of credit, I don't think they do the sketchy welds knowing they aren't safe and trying to screw someone. I think their idea of safe is just different from ours.

I take that back. They are actually really good at keeping scooters running with barely any resources. It's just they don't give a F if the scooter they sold to some fat American/Australian/European actually runs. They take the worn out shit they cant fix, paint it up nice, and sell it to some Westerner who wants a weekend rider. Now for the locals who depend on the scooter as a means of transportation, they do the best they can.

Nah, man. Everything is shit. It's not a discrimination thing. This was a picture of the local mechanic's shop that also did the painting. It was the Royal Enfield dealership for the area.

Square license plate holder gives it away. Before I saw that I was leaning towards a thumbs up, in spite of the green seats (I wonder if they threw away the matching spare tire cover) and the legshield trim that runs in one continuous pieces from the floor up the legshield.

The more I think about it, the more I suspect its someone just joking around. No seat... just a block of foam that doesnt sit flush... the color... the price. I can't believe that even an Israeli bodger wouldn't do a least a little research.
