id like to help him make it safe and ride able.
we will inspect it further and do whats necessary to make it so...
thanks for the advice on it so far.
Will, post motor pics please so the motor can be identified. its got all the acorn nuts and lock washers on all the motor bolts as seen in most PV rebuilds...

Thanks jsunstar for helping me get some feedback on here. I feel like I'm at an AA meeting standing up in front of everyone and admitting I have a problem. And frankly after seeing people get shredded on these forums I was hesitant to post at all. I am not a bodge apologist or a Nam shill. I'm just a guy with a bike I need to figure out what to do with. I only spent $900 so I don't want to throw a lot of money into this. If I can determine the frame is solid, I'll use the bike. Anyway thanks again for the advice on checking out the frame. That's what I needed. I don't know the terms LML or Nam Caveman, but I did check the motor VIN number at scooterhelp.com and it came back as the right model.
Not exactly sure, but it appears to be off to a poor start... Is the exhaust really welded on?

So it hasn't reached OZ yet? Welding the exhaust directly to the cylinder is the latest innovation in speed/performance.. Whomever built this motor knew what he was doing!

It is a bodge. In the end they are generally like a puss filled infection. Good luck - but keep reporting as it benefits people who might be contemplating one of these disasters.

We're on Catalina Island... Sure enough... In a gift shop.. Full dressed bodge.
It is a really nice slightly metalic brown though. Really.. Too bad about the rest.

obviously you dont know much about bodges or Lambrettas. People dont put than many expensive top shelf parts on a bodge. Its a rat rod look with matte paint job.

I have a 1985 PX150 I keep in Vn, the original odometer states 66,000 km. On Vn roads that number of km should equal 80,000 miles. It is on its second respray and third engine rebuild, though I think I will install a new engine this fall.

I saw the paperwork... Having taken apart a Sprint bodge a few years ago... most of those those parts are super cheap from SEA. White walls yellowing like that are on so many of them. The speedo with no miles, the super thin chrome rims. name plate barely glued on... And might just be me but the way the seams are completely globbed over looks like the typical filler coating that they do over the whole scooter. If it did come from Germany they restored it to the exacting standards of Vietnam. IMHO.

I think German 'bodge' then. I have a smallie definitely from Germany and it has that same additional VIN tag on the side of the tunnel. Regardless, why tell lies here: "all parts are present and original including paint." on both?

Probably OK bikes for too much money.

I might get totally flamed for this but -

I think that some of the bodge bikes coming out of Asia are cosmetically GORGEOUS. Super gorgeous actually. The two tone paint with matching seats and all the chrome and white walls...absolutely spectacular in my eyes. Some of those builders have the cosmetics nailed.

Too bad the bikes are jerry rigged down to every last bolt.

Me three, but on these German 'bodges'. Possibly even mechanically sound, you know those clever & obsessive Germans. Which is funny, considering the source of the phrase "jerry rigged".

If only the bodgers were as good with mechanics as they are with paint!

Voodoo, what do you know about the VIN plate on the tunnel? Does it mean it comes from a specific place? I saw a "125 Sprint" on the weekend with one.

They have been on DC craiglist for a while.
The fella got burned... He came here for help.

New: What is the motor size of my Vespas

Apparently he could not fix them and now he wants to dump them.
I have been thinking about these being bodges from the very beginning. Maybe not from SEA but bodges nonetheless....

Back to classic bodgery. Here's your full on plaid seats, chromed full edge trim, seat base & fork stem top, added glovebox, too tall speedo, even the wings up front and once gorgeous paint & immaculate body work 10, maybe 5 years on.
