rally 200
Rally 200.
I was cleaning a rally 200 piston, prior to measuring. Had a lot of carbon deposit on the crown and skirt. I noticed something strange on the underside. A blob of aluminium weld. And on the top you can still see the seams where the weld did not melt the aluminium. When they holed the piston, they just welded the hole shut. This is no curry. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I need help on this scoot and have no experience at spotting a bodge.
Owner claims it's fully original but recently restored. All the numbers match and it's a 1958 according to the registration. Has no rust. He is asking a fortune for it. 15k usd. School me. ![]() ![]() |

Why would you even consider splashing out $15k on a bike you suspect is a bodge? Especially one with thai (?) writing on the advert?

the pics look like a proper restoration. But being that its in Thailand and not being able to do a proper inspection I would pass. Even though the Thai guys seem to do proper builds and resto's vs what comes out of vietnam.

Nice Price or Crack Pipe for $2500
This beauty showed up on today's "Nice Price or Crack Pipe" but from the pics it's hard to tell if it's a nice price...

If that was $15000 US importing the one from Bello Moto in San Francisco at $ 9500 US would still make financial sense and buying Bello Moto GS would give you peace of mind. I am in Australia and I have purchased 2 Vespas off Gianluca at Bello Moto. My 2c worth!!!! |

"No time wasters please". The only time waster appears to be the seller. Actually "seller" is a bit of a misnomer... he won't be selling too many bodges for $12000. |
