Nam vespa all the way. You can see bondo everywhere. with this price tag $7k, I should be able to get a 100% original vespa prestine condition.

Looks like seller is either lied straight face or know nothing. I'm wondering what sold at $9k price tag.

Has the rare Italian mat that is rare, hence the $7k price tag.

What a hat-trick... 62
It's managed a whole 33km!
Most of it on 1 wheel.

I wonder I just how negotiable the $7950 is?

Bet there are a LOT of chrome bits in the box of extras!

Description
Hi There, For sale is my Vespa VBB 1962 year model. Bike was fully restored partially by previous owner and partially by me. It was originally imported from England, and I still have English number plate to go with it. Work done by previous owner: Engine Rebuilt Performance (Sterling) Exhaust Engine Tune Work done by me: Little Rust cut out in foot panel Full respray New Seats New Chrome Trims New Tyres Bike starts every time from first kick, even if it is seating in garage for 3 month, it takes max 3 kicks to get started. It runs beautifully, and is a joy to ride. Main reason I had it and used it for was advertising my business; name of which was printed on surf board attached to the bike. It worked great, as bike draws attention of 99% of people walking past it, so all you need to do is just park it in busy area, and it does all work for you. I had it for 2 years, and now looking for something else to do this job for me, that is new to the area, and people haven't seen yet, so Vespa is going up for sale. I have a box of extra parts and accessories, that I haven't fitted yet, that will be sold with the bike. Also included is a surf board rack, if you require it. Price is negotiable, however bike is in excellent condition, so please don't waste my and yours time with lowball offers. It is quickly appreciating classic after all, and I'm not desperate to sell. Willing to ship interstate, if you organize the delivery, any inspection is welcome. Thank You

Goin for a century! 65
.yeah, it may not be a bodge, but at the way these prices are goin up, just imagine how much a 80's scoot is worth in Sydney!

Can someone please explain to me how (& why) th fuk you can spend $27,000 to restore a 50S?
At least he could have splashed out on a 50SS or even a 90SS for that matter!

http://www.quicksales.com.au/ad/untitled/itemid-600161262

Description
1964 Vespa 50s smallframe This scooter was originally used on Garden Island Naval Base Sydney from its birth. With its top speed of 30 MPH and with 2.6 HP this scooter was only every meant to pop back and forth from the engineering workshops or to Harry Café de Wheels in their lunchbreak. I wanted more than just to lifestyle it on a cafe racer. So I decided to professionally shoe-horn in a genuine race-spec engine, modern suspension and braking of a modern street machine, without loosing the classic Italian lines. The humble 50 cc engine was welded and machined to an inch of its life. Rotary induction had now become a thing of the past and a massive inlet was machined for the reed manifold. All topped off with a massive Dell'Orto carburettor. The drive ratios were modified to suit the estimated output of the engine and a Zirri short 4th was installed. SSScooter ported a 130 cc Malossi Kit and a VSP race exhaust finished off the package. A front full hydraulic disc brake was installed to the original front fork and a pair of Bitubos make sure the scooter stays on the tarmac until at least ¼ throttle is reached, when the front wheel lifts off the ground! She now rides kind-of like a cannon ball... I suppose its something to do with her naval past! This is a genuine Italian bike/motor, a very rare bike as the small frames are only 2/3 the size of the a standard Vespa which is why the Italians raced these bikes and hence many are ridden off. The paint job is was file finish using the original dupont paint code matching the VIN#. Bike is registered and runs perfect. Has less than 100km ridding time since restoration. I get it serviced once a year and that's when she get ridden. No time wasters. I have spent over $27k becuase it was only worked on by the best technicians. You will not find better, she is very reliable and simply one of the most beautiful Small frame 50 s you will find. Yes she is a weapon also. A collectors dream, an investment.

Wait, you spend $27k to build a fast small frame, then only ride it once a year to the shop to get it serviced? Explains why he spent so much, he's an idiot.

Ditto, def not a bodge. Probably only fetch $3000 to $3500 here though, unless at an upscale boutique shoppe.

looks like one of the early Nam bodge. THis one is more like a misc of many Vespa in one.

Front light has the little yellow bulb, chrome all over...

A friend in the market for a scoot contacted the seller. He 100% sure this is directly from Italy =)
BTW seller insisted this sprint has 3689km.... =). I didnt know Vespa speedo can count up to 6 digits km.

retro bodge
Yup, it seems inevitable and hopefully adds value to our originals.
You know these things, are they metal or plastic?
I am a little baffled here w/ just one pic Probably just a big one piece injection molded w/ colored plastic body.

I thought I saw the newest model of this bike and it had similar curvy full molded body, but w/ awesome integral headset included!!!
Which has gotta mean cool steer-by-wire controls where you lightly press the RH or LH grip the direction you wish to go maybe? Clown emoticon

This one is an example of how they are trying to get better at looking more legit.

https://newhaven.craigslist.org/mcy/5973076814.html

10 inch wheels
Nam style leather seats
Key under seat by the choke
Floor mats
Tons of embellishments/trim pieces
Nam shaped plate holder...with no plate
Two different kinds of bolts through the floor for the center stand.
Hard to tell on my screen, but it looks like wrong levers.
Janky rear brake light switch.
No name black face speedo

I'm sure there are tons of other things, like the wrong shape stand boots, cowl rubbers, etc.....but it looks like they are getting away from the gaudy colors and overblown add ons...

seller believes this is original handle bar 150 Vespa. And is worth $6500 in his fantasy world. If someone offered him $650, he will probably happy to get rid of it.

pro: nice background setup at Disney Concert Hall to make it looks in tune with silver color, a $6500 price tag that someone naive person may buy.
con: a well down of a Super, 10" wheel, re-manufacture handle bar, on a 90 fork, lot of bondo?

honest seller up front said it's probably from SEA.

$1399 is still way to high. $400 may be?

on the bright side, it comes with the "magic" italian floor mat. Wha? emoticon

This is so sad. These peps are getting better on how to lie and mask the truth of these Vespa. They are feeling the community hated Vespa from SEA. They started cutting any string related to SEA. They begin to restore vespa differently as you can see less chrome, no yellow boot. They used studio picture or with fake EU license plate which you can't tell where the pictures was taken.

Seller claimed he restored at home. A buddy of mine asked seller for picture during restoration of any Vespa, seller has gone around and around from forgot to no time to phone was out of memory. Interestingly, my buddy checked the provided vin and it is a newly import from Nam.

Pretty unethical ehh

That guy is pretty infamous as an importer of bodges. He also sells a lot of "restored" P series from god knows where (India or Indonesia maybe?) with shiny new paint jobs and crappy chrome bits.

He has a pretty generic web site, no details, just some old black and white photos from the original factory and his "restored' vespas. He's pretty close to where I live, but doesnt list an address. Maybe I can ask to see his 'shop'.

Whats up with this one?

Seems suspicious with odometer of just over one mile, looks like newish tires with nibs still on them, but chrome is rusty. last plate sticker is from 80's

Looks like a crappy Indian speedo, so he probably replaced the speedo and tires, but couldn't get it to run so he's selling it. Looks good, I really like the color, but not worth $2500 in non-running condition.

He has a few bids on it now , I feel bad for the sucker who buys it . The seller has a few other Vespas listed with lots of watchers on each . They[buyers] should register on this forum if they want a Vespa and learn about the bodges as I have/am

Immediate problems:
Early style levers
What's with the block off plate for the fuel tap?
Wrong speedo
Cheapo "close enough" grey respray.
Cracked headset cover
What's the date code on the tires?
