Can you enlighten us on the bad points of this one. It says it was restored at a ship in the US.

Glove box....shouldn't have one.
10 inch wheel conversion
Seats
You can still see the Nam license plate mount.

Owe are the easy to see bits. The lack of more photos hides more things I'm sure....

Looking at buying wife her first Vespa. Bodge or not?
Current seller says the previous seller restored, but doesn't know much. It is local so I can go check it out. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Round-tail framed Sprint? Doesn't look legit to me.

On another note, I love the color!

Run away.

EDIT: didn't mean to be glib. I see at least 3 bikes smooshed together here.

sprint - cowls and fender
vbb - badge and headset?
super? sprint? - front of frame
early vna/vnb - rear of frame

That's an interesting place for the choke knob.
I can't tell if the rims are 8" or 10".

Don't let anyone you love ride this.

That is a 50 Special. Original color and as it's a 1981 U.S. model it will be a three speed.

I have never seen a 1980/1981 USA market Ice Blue 50 Special that was a 4 speed. In those years you could only get a 100 Sport 3 speed or a 50 Special 3 speed. This is US/Canadian market specific for those two years...

Cool little scoot.

Would a 50 Special have the same headset as a 100 Sport? And where are the blinkers?

The 50 did not come with turn signals, but the headset casting is the same. Just no holes for the indicator stalks. Uses P series type switches, although the RH switch is kill only.

Hello. Been a lurker on here for a while.
Saw this on the interweb and wondered what the possibility of it being a possible purchase, or avoid at all costs...

Thank you for your input and knowledge.

not a bodge, it's really a question of if you want to get into/deal with a widebody.

The fender light is not original (nor is the side stand), but it looks to be as described in the ad

Favorite yellow boot, drill mount the bar to the cowl, fender, ...

but hey they still left some of the original accessories, horn, headlights, on the scoot including the original speedo of the newer Sprint. Normally, they replaced with new cheap stuff.

Looks like a mix of parts. Even the last T5 (Millennium) was totally different. I wouldn't say it's a bodge, but it's certainly not original...
