You should be very leery of that and don't even think about it.

Thanks guys.
I was admittedly temped by the price but something seemed "off".
The search continues.

This scoot does not have standout redflag but has some concern as a mix-match scooter.

1) noticeable is the headset. Combination of Veloce light and early SPrint speedo size
2) 1966 sprint should have Vespa Sprint 150 or Sprint S on legshield instead of Vespa150
3) bottom frame where licence plate goes to should be square edge instead of round edge from VBB1 style. The cowls are from a Super. Column lock is a Super/SPrint type. Hopefully this is not a salvage of Sprint/Super/VBB1 bodies.

I would not buy this scoot at any price.

I knew there was something fishy about it . I am not ready to buy an oldie yet but im trying to learn what to look for .You guys are so good at this stuff !!! I am very nervous about buying too as some look good but obviously they are junk . I want an authentic one when its time and I don't care if the paint is pealing [ I actually like the patina look]along as its mechanically stable im ok .

It's sad to see these shiny blinky one price so high in the range of 4k-5k. It looks like there are demands for it in order to keep the price going at that range.
Once a while, you see a legit good scoot going at that high price and still get let attention than the shiny one.

at least, the seller is not asking an outrageous amount for the faded pink of what looks like a VBB frame, with 10", battery powered and VBC engine.

Not too sure how a VBB frame be a 1968 scoot.

Something must be really wrong with these SEA scoot when they are pricing in ~2k range. From what I can see, the fork is bent as the front wheel is not straight.

So the unspoken pattern of pricing has been like this on those scoots.

$4-6k - Potentially has something wrong.
$3-4k - Owner discovered something not right.
$2-3k - Owner discovered some thing is really wrong.
$1-2k - Ran when parked/put in storage last year.
<#1k - Busted, owner attempted to restore and scoot is falling apart.

So should I be leery of accessorizing my scoot? I like the look of cowl protectors and racks. Was also going to add a glove box. I know what I would like her to look like but wouldn't want her sneered at either.

1k a piece.

an example of run when parked since and required major tune up to run. Usually, this means engine is busted.

saw this on my local craigslist,States it was restored by Planet Vespa

1961 VBB Vespa with MP6 styling (from 1945) in Aviator Grey with black upholstery. I just recently purchased this beautiful Vespa. Planet Vespa, is the company that fully restored the scooter. It was a seven week process to complete the full restoration, and an additional 6 weeks to have the scooter shipped to FL. I have taken care of all the registration required to title scooter. I've rode it less than a tank of gas. This scooter is perfect in every way and is like brand new. I'm starting a family and need the money. I have over $5000 invested in the scooter, so my loss your gain.

Crying or Very sad emoticon

I almost spit on my monitor with the comment of how it's held up! There's a single kickstand on the other side. The chrome/trim looks questionable, as do the turn signals. I have no idea what the motor looks like (nor will I get a chance to figure it out) before purchasing. Oh, and there's no title (bill of sale only). Sounds like more trouble then it may be worth?

I wouldnt go for this bike as there are a few thing that are not right. Side stand, 10" wheel, typical levers from SEA, incorrect back seat. Accessories may be legit vigano or Ulma but may not.

Worth $1400? Seems to me like it's too questionable and the added hassle of no title makes it a money pit. Agree?

I am not sure how many scoot you have owned but after a few purchases, I learned to keep the money and wait for a decent scoot to come. It's fine to buy the questionable scoot if you have time and money to spare but that scoot could easily turning into an eye-sore thing in the garage.

Here's the response from the guy trying to sell a bodge: "Could very well be "coming" from Asia. There are so many people riding scooters in Asia, some vespa were taken from there. Theyre called like Hodge podge or something. Most Chinese scoots now are gy6 style scoots, twist and go trans. Variator centrifigiel clutch etc blah blah. I've had many many scoots. This bike is being sold as is, curb side warranty, that's it. Its a vespa not a alpha Romeo! I'm not really into these as a big investment.
This bike isn't really even for sale! This may not be the best bike for you. That's all I know about the scoot in whole. Its the same thing I've said in over 35 emails."

Weeeee, a whole lot of filler bondo everywhere. It looks like seller has salvaged all he could and gave up on the frame.

It's funny that it was chained to the poll. I doubt anyone will steal this frame even if you pay them to steal.
