ive been hearing vibrating noises from around my front fender (lx150). took a look around (lots of under ) this afternoon and i found the nut on the clamp that holds the brake and speedo cables together under the fender is missing. ive attached a picture since i dont know if the clamp is the right one or if its attached the right way (the clamps sharp edges look uncomfortably close to the tyre!). anyone got pictures of theirs?

thanks.
the clamp. missing the nut that (i suppose) should be holding the screw and the clamp together.

I'm not sure if it is the clamp in your picture, but my recollection from changing the front shock on my LX150 is that there is a metal clamp for the two cables that is held in place by one of the two upper shock mounting bolts.

Look up inside your mudguard to see if one of your upper shock mounting bolts is missing. If so, that solves the mystery.

Silver streak, you mean the clamp on top on this picture (from oopsclunkthud)? that IS missing. but the two shock-mounting bolts are still there. the clamp in my first photo is the second one on the bottom of oopsclunkthuds picture.

i just hope its still safe to ride before i get to replace these clamps.
the silver clamp on top is missing but the two mounting bolts for the shock are there. there is a hole (doesnt seem to be a bolt hole since the edges are smooth) right next to them i dont know what shd go into the hole.

Yeah, the one on top was the one I was talking about. The whole purpose of those clamps is to keep the cables from wearing on the shock assembly. I'd get them squared away as soon as possible.

At least now you know where the bottom one anchors.
