It's been a while since I posted here, and I have been on the site a while, and I always stay up to date with MV.
I just wanted to give an unofficial point of view/review of the pirelli diablo tire.
I changed my GTS 250 to the 300 Super about 8 months ago, and I love that scooter.
I went down twice - Once on ice (I know I shouldnt have ridden) and the second time was on garbage remains that a truck left on the road.
I cant blame any of those spills on the tires but I personally love the pirellis and would never change'em again.
As soon as I got my scoot I figured I would change the stock tires to a better performance tire) I opted for the Sport City. I ride in NYC and anyone who has been here or ridden here, knows that the road conditions are poor at best, between the potholes, the raw streets that are constantly being paved, and the slots and angles of the asphalt are a tough surface to negotiate.
I rode a Pirelli Diablo rear and a GTS 23 front for almost two years on the GTS and I now have them back on my 300.
The tire has a harder compound than the Savas the michelins and others I've tried and that works well for me here in the big apple.
The response from the road is accurate in any weather, and I dont have that "give" that I experienced from the Sport City which makes my riding much more confident.
I dont get thrown in any direction when riding on the grooves in the roads (re-paving, construction, etc.) and I think that for an all weather tire, on rougher roads, and not talking about long commutes or weekend rides with many twisties - this for me is the best tire out there.
I will not change them again (although who knows) and I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.
Good to be back BTW
