Modern Vespa

Last night when I got home, there was a box on the porch from Scooterworks... I didn't remember buying anything from them but it was addressed to me... OoOoOoh, what could it be?!? I opened it to find this little beauty!

My best friend bought me a new Vespa for my birthday!

A diecast model, isn't it cute?? I brought it to work with me, and it'll now live here with my other tiny scooter, a model of the Honda Metropolitan that I used to have. I have my own little desk top scooter posse!

p.s. Oh yeah! Major props to Scooterworks! They also sent me a cool Buddy keychain, a new catalog, and a small box of sour apple hard candies! Happy bithday to me!

I have a GT200 die cast and it does not look as well made as the one you have. It should really not be called a die cast model--just plastic with a few metal bits!

Scootie, are you a professional photographer? I'm guessing you must be. Those are absolutely superb photos, particularly the second one. The use of light, reflections/shadows, subject matter placed in context with the windows. Other than the flash appearing in the shots, they're simply astounding photos.

pretty neat model, i had one of those but the center stand broke. i think it's in a box somewhere waiting to be fixed one of these days.

ToppiSF~ You are SO kind! But no, I'm not a professional photog. In fact, I took both of these pictures with my cell phone. It's the Droid Incredible, I just got it about a month ago. It has an 8 megapixel camera and it does take great pictures. I love photography, but I'm not trained in any way. I just know how I want an image to look in my minds eye, and then I attempt to capture what I imagine. I do try to take really nice pictures because I often use them for my blog, but even still, my "good" camera is just a Canon PowerShot SD750. Earlier this year I had decided I would buy myself a really nice camera for my birthday... but then we bought me a much better present which is parked in the garage and polished with a diaper, and is the reason I'm lucky enough to be on this forum at all But thank you so much, that comment brightened my day!

owlcore~ Bust out the glue, man! Heeheehee... The Met models were originally sold at Walgreens, believe it or not! When I had my Met, I was a member of UrbanScootin.com, a Met forum, and one of the other members managed a Walgreens somewhere back east. He saved me one and I bought it from him. BUT, I have seen them, and in fact bought one for a friend who also rides a Met over on eBay. They still come up now and then, just gotta keep your eyes peeled.

As an iPhone owner, I have to say that the cameras just keep getting better in phones all the time. That beginning post photo with the 2 models in it is great and the title was what got me at first. Any friend that gives a Vespa no matter what the size is awesome in my book!
