When my bike slows down below 20-25 mph, the CVT transmission does not change "modes" into the (what I call) coasting mode. When I accelerate from a stop, severe vibration occurs until 20-25 mph is reached, then the transmission smoothes out and the bike runs nicely.

Any suggestions? The 2009 has almost 19k on it.

Thanks and ride safe.

"coast mode" should not happen until below 10 mph where the clutch is designed to disengage.

Below 10mph?? 16km/hr?? My clutch disengages between 20 and 25 km/hr. I've been thinking it's a bit high. Any suggestions?

Hmm..

I doubt it, Jim. The bike's only done 6K km and I put in DrPulley's sliders 3K km ago.

Gonzo.

There was a thread somewher about someone finding an individual Dr Pulley slider upside down. If the variator parts are not held tight during install this can happen.

Several have put them all in upside down.

Thanks for all the information...the bike is going in the shop Tuesday.

I had a new belt and rollers replaced late April at 14k miles. Are rollers and variators the same thing?

2 sunny days have passed without riding!

yes the rollers make up a portion of the variator.

I had similar symptoms from brand new (plus a propensity to stall if rolling on the throttle while the engine was in the process of dropping to neutral). It would drop to neutral at between 15 and 20mph which felt very early.

Ended up having a clutch change recently, which has stopped the stalling.

Now I just have to improve the currently tractor-like take-off...

May try Dr Pulley's myself, now the stalling is fixed. Did try JCosta, but that self-destructed...

mp3/500 goes into coast mode when rpm hits 1700, on mine. Sometimes around 15 mph. Tilt lock does not activate operation until about 5 mph tops.
