no engine needed... just swap out the internals.

125 crank that's been cut and flowed
130~135 top end (malossi, polini, etx)
decent intake & pipe
gear it appropriately.

zoom-zoom for not much dollar-dollar billz

thanks guys for the info... i only got it home yesterday, so ill have a tinker (dad word) this week some time, the tanks not connected, and the kick starts knackered.. so hopefully it will run, just a little concerned it'LL struggle pulling my arse along...

ive seen alot of of people doing these uprating mods, like you mention.. is it not cheaper to just buy a 125 engine or something? im guessing the engine mods mentioned run into the 100's....?

you might spend a few hundred on parts and labor, but that's still cheaper than buying a rebuilt motor (which could cost you $600-$1000).

ok, anyone whos interested... got the bike runninfg in ten minutes!! BLOCKED FUEL TANK WAS TO BLAME..

ive since completely stripped the bike, had all parts sand blasted, and the the frame blasted today. so all coming along nicely.. ill add some pics as i go.

now for the engine mods talked about.... can someone tell me exactly what i need to make it the best i can? ive welded a frame up that holds the engine.. so im ready to get going... crank/PISTON KIT/ exhaust/ CARB? engines are where im stumped... ive done some reading, but theres so much, my brain hurts....

the engine in the bike is definately a pk 80.. i measured the bore today.
hope to hear from someone soon.
regards
jonny boy

how much money do you want to spend on the upgrades?

the more specific you are about what your budget is, the better i can help guide you.

best,

Hi, i have a pk100 with a pk50 engine, the 50 engine has a pollini kit on, wikid bit of kit !! Anyways... I find that my top speed is only 38mph, if you get a 130-135 kit make sure you have 125 gears, you will fly !! I am putting my 100 gears into the 50 engine, should give her some speed.

Just one thing! Be careful pulling away ! You dont realise how much power these things can pack, i can wheelie piss on my pk and that is only a 110 kit, dont drop the clutch in 1st or 2nd, but it does look cool in front of a crowd haha.

Unfortunatley i siezed the 50 engine the other week, luckily enough the barrel is fine :O piston is nackered though, new piston should be here wednesday, isle of wight rally (for those in the uk) on friday :O pushing it much !!

Take care, Tony
