She's a bit "lumpy" on initial acceleration - I'm guessing a new set of roller weights should sort that out???
Best,
Mark

Heheh thanks Bill. I think.
Great spot Genie! The seller is over in Peterborough but the scoot was indeed sourced from Scooterden 8) I am however thinking the dots may have to go... The seller bought her new and has only put about 4.5k km on her, just enough for a spanking new set of Michelin Pilot tyres. Not used in the rain and garaged. He really looked after her. All the limited edition nik-naks are there, including a grrreat looking "coffee table" type book on the history of the marque. Best, Mark |

Please educate me, what is the significance of the GT60. I've seen a few post where it states that they are collector items, is this true. Did they not make a lot of them and are they only 60 CC?
Just curious. |

Wrong
No keep the pipe just change the rack.
The pipe is just fine standard thank you very much. It would look wrong with a non standard one. Bill X |

Personally, I'd keep it as standard as possible, including the rear rack. I'd take the exhaust off and keep it somewhere safe. You may find that later mapping will sort out your lumpiness. Find someone with the latest Piaggio navigator.

Thanks DougL. Certainly any bits I do take off (likely to include that pesky two piece saddle for "everyday" riding) will be retained "in the interests authenticity"!
On the subject of the pipe specifically, I have always thought the stock item looks strangely "not in keeping" with the rest of modern Vespa styling. Each to his (her) own, I guess... Best, Mark |

Hi Mark
Who did you insure with?, did you insure it as a GT60 or a GTV? I have one and have struggled with insurance. Still covered by my French insurnance, but that runs out in a few weeks. Thanks Matthew |

Hi Matthew
She isn't insured yet - on my to do list first thing tomorrow. I will try my existing insurers and let you know how I get on. Thanks Benito! I will be selling my GTV and reverting to scootering singledom for a while but am hoping a nice old school ride will come along at the right price soon... Best regards Mark |

Any more suggestions about the "lumpy" pickup much appreciated! To be more specific, it's a vibration which goes away once the scooter picks up a bit of speed. Sound like roller weights to you...???
Thanks, Mark |

It's official, I can't get insurance cover until I pass my test. I have explained that I understand I am not licensed to ride my GT60 yet and that I would not do so illegally, but apparently that doesn't count for anything. So I can't even insure her against accidental damage or to take my test on her, which would be legal on 'L' plates accompanied by a qualified examiner. No one will insure me "for a bike of that type" (it's only a scooter FFS!) until I pass my test. I say no one, I did get one quote for £9,100!! |
