Hello all,

I just bought a 2009 150LX that had the tall windscreen already installed. While riding I noticced a squeaking rubbing sound and i traced it to the windscreen rubbing against the headlight.

The headlight is round and the windscreen headlight cut out is more rectangular with rounded edges. So, I am wondering was the windscreen that was installed the wrong windscreen or was it installed wrong?

It appears to be a genuine Vespa accessory. I need to install some sort of spacer to prevent it from touching the head lamp, or can I adjust the bolts to make a gap between the windscreen and haed light.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Greg

if the windscreen cut out is rectangular, you have the wrong windscreen for your lx 150, that one is cut for an S more than likely... (thus sayeth the guy who's been window shopping windscreens for the last three days).

As for adjusting to prevent the rub, i don't know, and defer to the MV community.

+1 I think it's for an S not an lx. I too have been shopping for windscreens for the past few days. I need an S so if you decide to replace it, PM me. I might be interested.

I think they're mildly adjustable, to the extent that it might just be planned mis-installation of the mirror, but it does sound like you've got an "S" screen on your LX. I have the Vespa-branded flyscreen on my LX, and the cutout is perfectly round.

For comparison, here's an S screen, (posted for sale in the MV classifieds, btw)

Windscreen
Hey, thanks for the input. I was on Vespa USA site and I believe those that identified the windscreen as one for the S are right. After looking at it the previous owner had the wrong windscreen installed.

The dealer is no longer in business as a Vespa dealer so I am considering all options. I think before I do anything I'll remove the windscreen to prevent any damage to the windscreen or to my headlight.

Thanks,

Greg

Update:

Removed the windscreen. It turns out it is for a Fly scooter. I am putting it up on ebay for $125.Then I'll decide if I want to replace it. I'll ride this weekend without the windscreen.

Thanks,

Greg
