Now that I have had some time to play with my scooter, aptly named Frejya, I am ready to "grrrl-ify" her. I have read many different forums about adding stickers, chrome, and other bits. I am not concerned as much about speed (I am prone to go speed limit or slower). But I am wanting to add stuff. My car is plastered with stickers, I am covered in ink, so why not?!

First question: Is it easier riding with a basket in front?

Second: Does the chrome actually provide functionality or just look cool?

Third: I can't find seat covers (pref checkered) anywhere, that don't have a dog paw on them. I prefer cats myself.

Fourth: I will never have a passenger, so is there something else I can put there?

Fifth: Is there some sort of a "scooter alarm" that makes really loud noise if people touch it?

I welcome all suggestions.

RiotGrrrl - no real info to pass on to you. I've only added a roll bag and a thingymajigger to hold my coffee. I can't girly-fy mine because I think my husband would have a ball with it - plus, I want to trade him scoots every now and then.

I noticed you are in Omaha. I'm in Lincoln. The Omaha Scooter Club has a board. Just google it. If you don't go on rides with them, you should as they are super cool folks! More or less, just wanted to send you a friendly hello. Post pictures of your scoot once it's all girly. Have fun with it!

P.S. Did you attend ScootStock last weekend in Lincoln? Awesome fun!

The chrome rear crash-bars have definitely saved a few bikes from damage. I highly recommend them.

and for your seat cover.

Appreciate the tip about OSC. I have looked them up, but not ridden with them yet. Right now, by husband rides mine more than his motorcycles (restoring one and wrecked the other , so I figure grrrl-ifying it will make him think twice. Would have loved to have been in Lincoln for that, but had other stuff going on. I am hoping to get her out a lot more next summer. She just passed 1000 miles last night!

OOOOOHHHHHH!!!! Pretty seat cover!!!!

If you don't plan to ride with a passenger I would recommend a Solo seat from a Vespa S. It is a 2 minute swap and will bolt right onto your LX. They look very good on LX. They are on eBay all the time and I've seen them go for as low as $50. I'm sure someone here on MV has one to sell also because people often ditch the solo seat that comes with the bike for a 2 passenger seat setup. I think it gives the bike a really sporty look.

If you do decide to go for a solo seat, let me know. At this minute, I am cruising ebay for a two-up seat. I'm picking up an S tomorrow and it has a solo seat but I'd prefer a two-up. Serious offer...

If you want to do something custom in stripes and stickers, I had a good experience with Leg End Productions. They provided my stripes and custom stickers with UV coatings. They were actually able to manufacture them with just some pics and measurements of my scoot. You can get more info in this post.

Not to mention, they're really comfortable! I had the pleasure of riding a Euro S 125 as a loaner before the S hit the US market for a couple days, and I had a hard time giving it back!
