i was wondering if anyone had the same problem as i did, i ride a 2009 GTV 250, about a month ago i did some normal riding when i stop for a 10 minute coffee break, i got back on my scoot and didn't kick over, the battery was good, had plenty of gas, so since only i was about 3 miles away from home i pushed it home (raining) when i got home i started to do a complete checklist to figure out it why it wouldn't start, i noticed i was low on oil, i added some, and it started right up!! i went to the dealer and told him what happened, he said there's a sensor,when it is low on oil, the scooter won't start, ok, not bad, now 4 weeks later, it happened again!! this time i have plenty of oil!!! i called a tow, waited about 1 hour and gave 1 more try, and guess what?? it started right up!! i callled to cancel the tow and rode home and was confused as to why this was happening!! this time i'm taking to the dealer for a complete checkup. Has anyone had a similiar problem? please let me know, thank you!!

Not sure if it's related to the oil level. My 250 would fail to start after riding it for a while. I would stop, turn it off, get back on after 10 or 20 minutes and it would fail to start. If I left it over night, or a reasonable amount of time to cool down, it would start again. Discovered it was a faulty fuel pump. Seems to be a common problem in 250s. Once it was replaced everything was fine. No problems since.

There's no low oil level sensor- only a low oil pressure warning light.

There's been a rash of overheating fuel pumps recently that have the same symptoms you're having. Listen to the scooter when you first turn the key on. You'll hear a whirring sound as the fuel pump pressurizes the system. Next time it doesn't start see if the fuel pump is running; if it's not bring it back to the dealer, for replacement. Is your scooter still under warranty?

That sucks and check out the current fuel pump recall thread. Hope it gets fixed soon. If you get it replaced under warranty keep the documentation(ask for the batch number) because there is a good chance they are replacing them with the defective ones if they haven't gotten a new batch in. If it goes again out of warranty you can get a new one. Good luck

It's your fuel pump.
