Has anybody put a Corbin on a GTS 300.

My wife has just bought one and we had an inch taken off to enable her to get her feet on the ground.

The problem is that the seat just has her sliding forwards all the time particularly under braking.

What I'm trying to find out is whether this forward sloping is a consequence of the inch being shaved off or whether the original design does the same.

Thanks.

I've got a standard production Corbin on a GTS 250 and I slide forward all the time. It's very tiresome.

I have a Corbin on my 300 and after I got it I had to send it back for the same reason. I had them take an inch from the rear pan of the drivers seat and shave an inch back into the passenger seat and it's much better. I still slide forward during heavy breaking but the riding position is much better with the back lowered an inch and moved back an inch.

My Corbin didn't change the height of my seat at all,at least not that I can tell. They will however make it to fit your body. Send it back to Corbin and ask them to dish the driver bucket so she stays put. I had to do the same thing with mine to keep me from sliding forward. Send it back with detailed instructions on what you want them to do.

You can also adjust the rear shocks to get an inch or so less height to the seat.

Just sold mine for $130 shipped....I will miss the street cred. Every HD rider I've ridden with or talked to noticed the Corbin seat. As a matter of fact several have asked, "what happened to your Corbin?"

My wife has had a Corbin seat on her GTS for two years. We bought it (used) from a member of this forum who didn't like the sliding problem. I immediately added some spacers under the nose of the seat and bingo...........problem solved. She loves this seat.

Just curious. did you lose the closure seal to the helmet compartment? Very inventive resolution btw.

If the scooter, a GTS at least, has cowling protection the seal may not latch. That is reportedly fixable by adding spacers.

XLR8 reported raising the front solved his wife's latch problem.

Just wanted to report that I have also tried this spacer thing. It does work for riding but I could never get the seat to latch properly after putting in the spacer which is tough on the closure) and it did leave a big gap in the front where the hing is. I really wanted this to work as the Corbin is the most comfortable seat on long rides but this sliding thing is a real PITA. I may try to send mine in for adjustment however I bought it second hand so they may not be so helpful.

I gave up on mine, but others have managed solutions. If all else fails you can recover 2/3 of the cost by selling it. BTW Corbin has incredible name recognition with the HD crowd.

You're being Calicentric again. Still true here in the land of HD. WTF is Hollister would be the question here....
