Hello:

I have a LX150ie with about 550 miles on it. When cold, there is a slight
hesitation for the first 10-15 seconds during acceleration. After that, it runs
fine. When it was brand new, there was no or very little hesitation. Is this
normal, or am I being paranoid?

Thank You.

I bought one for my GF last month. I rode it home from the dealer and it did the same thing. It still does when it is cold. Runs great after it warms up.

I don't think it should be doing this either.

Sheesh! It's obvious that both of you are too young to remember how badly carbureted vehicles often ran until they warmed up, and are roundly spoiled by being brought up with fuel injection. Razz emoticon

Heaven forbid that we should be inconvenienced by 10-15 seconds of minor hesitation on a cold scooter!

Ha Ha..too young..hardly. Would never own another carbed vehicle.

None of my FI motorcycles have this hesitation during warm up. I have owned quite a few. That's supposed to be the beauty of fuel injection.

Sorry... I'm grumpy because my squashed right leg hurts, and my inhibitions are dulled by copious infusions of Vicodin! Razz emoticon

A slight hesitation for 10 to 15 SECONDS after a cold start? Hey, I've got an idea. Give the scooter 10 to 15 seconds to circulate oil through the engine before taking off from a cold start. Your scoot will like that better and you won't notice any hesitation.

When I first got mine, it didn't do it but now that it has about 2000 km's on it, it is doing it. Doesn't bother me. I usually start it, let it run while I put on my helmet and by then, it is fine.
