I have a two toned green Vespa GT 2004. I think it's a 2004. Anyway I got it the first year they came out. I had it repainted and it's a one of a kind. I was told I could probably get $2000.00 for it. I'm thinking closer to $4000.00 to $5000.00. But really have no idea. I need to downsize to a 150. Any ideas?

As far as prices go - it varies a lot by condition, but there is no way you will get 4-5K for it. A GTS would have a hard time cracking 4K in most markets. I also, however, think 2K is too low. I tentatively think 2700-3200 is a fair asking price, having not seen your scooter and knowing nothing about its service condition. - what color is the custom paint? regularly serviced? how many miles? More info and pics could help |

Welcome to Modern Vespa. You posted in the general discussion section rather than the For Sale section. On the main page, just look down until you find the For Sale section and post your scooter there. It would help if you would post pictures and where you are located. As for price, you might look through the for sale section and get a realistic idea of how much your scooter someone will be willing to pay in this economy. Good luck.

I'll move this over to the "scooters for sale" although it's not for sale yet. FYI... it's too heavy (as I get older and older) and my feet don't really reach the ground. I'm in danger of crashing just stopping and starting. Handles great when I'm moving. I'll try to get picture and post at other site once it stops raining. Bike has had regular service, has tall windshield and carrier on back. It's two toned green and custom painted with a pattern that you have to see. A lot saw it at the Big Easy year before this one. I didn't ride it at the Pensacola White Sands Maham as I had a broken arm at the time. I'm just "thinking" about it. I do know a 150 is a better size for me. Still just in the thinking stage. This is my first Vespa and it's hard to think of letting go. At any price.

Why was it repainted? Was the bike crashed/dropped?
I think your friend was close to the value of the bike. 2007Gts models are in the $3K price range right now. Your bike is 3 years older, with a smaller engine etc etc. Either way, it sounds like you have problems handling the bike so it would be better for you to sell it and get a smaller one than risk getting hurt. The 150s really are quite a lot smaller and still very nice machines. |

Look on your local Craigslist OR OTHER similar LOCAL newspaper, internet group or whatever. Scooters that could be worth $500 in Omaha, may be worth $10,000 in Florida and $75 in California. Asking an opinion from a few of 10,000 people from across the internet will get you get answers from people who have no interest and basis in your area.
A bike in a place where there is 90 days of riding weather is worth a different amount than one where you can ride it close to 100 days, like San Diego. |

Sounds like you're not really serious about selling. If you were, pricing depends in large part on where you're located. It's unclear where you are, but the California market here is flooded with used Vespas. Regardless of condition, mileage, etc., $4,000-5,000 is way too high in any market. As others pointed out, craigslist is the best barometer of local pricing conditions.

Aloha and welcome to the forum. Have you tried the LX 150 or an ET2 or 4? The LX 150 and 50 are the same scooter in weight size etc except for the engine. Something to think about. If you want to stay with piaggio the ET2 is a great 50cc scooter but sometimes hard to find but not impossible. I'd go with Honda or Yamaha has for 50cc scooters if you don't want to stay with piaggio. The LX 50 doesn't have as much oomph as the ET2. Shoot for that one if you can. Great little scooter. I wouldn't need a 150 if i didn't have a mountain to climb to get out of where i live. Everyone doesn't always need a bigger scooter IMHO. Depends on what your needs are. Good luck

I'm in Pensacola. Pretty flat but had a 50 once and it didn't want to take this short, round, body up hills. Need at least a 150. Thinking of the vespa 150L and need to sell what I have to pay for the next bike. Doesn't have to be new.
