Me and my girlfriend took a six day journey to see most of Slovenia - a beautiful small country that has everything that traveler desires for. Picaresque towns, seaside, mountains of all sizes and shapes, and the underground world of caves. And everything in a compact distance. Once you´re there, there´s no need to take more than 150 km in a day.

We put on over 1700 km (including the transit from Slovakia trough Austria and back) without any problems with the machine. We mostly took sideroads, few times used highway to save time.

After my very first longer Vespa trip I´d say that it´s the best way how to spend your holiday.

Beautiful photos. Is it possible for you to give a brief description with some of them so we know where they are?

Re: Fascinating to see Lobstereye
Hi,

yes, I suppose we traveled light Just the (smaller) top case, front rack and the storage underseat. But I found out that it's enough space for two people for a week (maybe two as well) unless you don't take your tent and sleeping bags, which wasn't our case. We had most of the accomodation planned beforehand, but it's not a problem to find any while on the road. It's pretty reasonable too. The only thing is, that we dind't have any real raingear, so once we had to stop to dry our things. But most of the time we had a nice, sunny weather

Inspirational!
Lobstereye, thanks for the inspiration and the photo-journal of your trip to Slovenia. I'd like to do something similar next year.

Next month I'm taking a 1,000 km round-trip from Brno to Millstat, AT. This will be my first extended ride and I'm real excited about taking secondary roads through the Alps and a number of Austrian national parks. Millstat is near the borders of Italy and Slovenia so I hope to take a few short day rides.

By the way, there are some great twisties in and around Brno as I expect there are around Bratislava. Also, I love your town. You should be proud!

I like to hear of people traveling light. Good job. Also, is the front rack on your scoot Vespa OEM?

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. Again, it is inspiring!

Re: Inspirational!
Thanks for your comments Br. Don!

It's funny to read your reply in english, when you're from Brno (I suppose youre Czech). But I understand why
Actually, one of my possible future destinations is Czech republic - mostly south and Morava (I don´t know how is it in english). But probably I´ll leave that for the next season.
To answer your question - the front rack is from Logoscooter, which is cheaper than the original one from Piaggio.
Have a save and rewarding trip and take some pictures along the way. I would go somewhere too if I had time

Czech?
Lobstereye, I'm Czech at heart because my wife and I have lived here since 1992. But, I'm an American. I do speak Czech and make many mistakes but writing is very difficult for me. Řeknu, kdy mluvím Česky jako Vy, budu jeden z deset milionu nejchytreji lidí na světě! Čau!

Late reply, sorry, Lobstereye
I liked the travelling light aspect.

The credit card and toothbrush minimal change of clothes can be liberating even if more costly.

To save on tent carrying, a simple plastic sheet attached to your scoot or fence can suffice in summer and subject to away from the wind direction.

Interesting country, good photos.
Cheers

I traveled through Slovenia and stayed a few nights in Porto Rose (sp?) on the Adriatic Sea in the mid 90's...beautiful country. Wish I could have done it on a scooter!!! Great ride, thanks for sharing!!!
