Alright, I have checked through the boards for the solution to this problem but had no luck finding what I was searching for.

The clear tube which leads to the Fuel Tap (i think that is what it is), had a small slit in it a few weeks ago. I noticed this when I was stopped at a red light and the stench of gasoline filled the air. Strapped for cash, I did a little quick fix by applying some tape tightly around the tube which helped for a week or so.

Since then I have had to redo it a few times because the gasoline eats away at all the stickyness and I usually end up getting stuck in a parking lot when this happens and have to fix it again.

So my question is, where can I find a tube the same size so I can replace it and fix the problem for good?

I was thinking Home Depot maybe, and taking in the tube and asking an employee to help me find the right size. However, i'm not sure they will have the correct size.

Here is a photo, you can see where I have it taped.

Thanks for any advice!

You are not alone with the cracking of that Tygon tube and subsequent leak.

We opted to replace same with 1/4" fuel line hose that you can get at Napa or Checkers / O'Reilly...works fine.

I would recommend that owner's of GT200, etc. take a close look at this tube and if there is an indication of crazing or cracking replace or change out with fuel line hose before it becomes an issue at the wrong time.

This is the section between the pump and the carb, not the tiny length between the tap and pump that the OP seems to have a problem with. On that note, though, this one usually goes before the super short one anyway, so it would be a good idea to change it as well.

Also, +1 on the auto parts store. Home Depot, etc. won't have hose designed for constant contact with fuel.
