81 100 sport.. a bit 'balky' shifting...

any spots I can lube that likely would smooth this out?

Take your shift box cover off make sure your cable clamps are not binding on the box. Tighten everything up make sure you don't have too much slack in your cables
Clean out the old grease in the box
Put some new bearing grease in the box. Lube your cables well from the top with TriFlow cable lube. And don't forget these things are gunna clunk into gear no matter what. It's the nature of the beast.

You may have some slop in the gear stack or poorly adjusted cables - I'm not very familiar with the smallie riding experience but the ones I've been on had way smoother shifting than my largeframe.

you can pull the handles out of the head set, sand and degrease the tubes and the headset where they meet. then re-grease the whole thing and the difference can be amazing.

This made a huge difference on mine. Well worth the effort in my case.
