Wait...what? I could have sworn I heard he was definitely retiring. I think this might be a new record for his one day admittance into the hall of fame...assuming he does retire one day.

If you have seen those Sears commercials you will know that he is retiring in 2019 or later. He will probably set the record for years played, oldest player, most times retired, most comebacks, most people holding their breath to see what he does, most people annoyed by all the press coverage, etc, etc.

After a few (intentional?) late hits, the refs finally grabbed their $%#@ to call the Saints for it. The Saints played cheap. That's right, I said it! Cheap play doesn't deserve a W.

Brett Favre announced his retire from the Minnesota Vikings and revealed his "post-football" plans. Rather than returning to Mississippi as everyone expected, he surprised everyone by saying that he intends to stay in Minnesota and open a bakery with former Viking teammate, Adrian Peterson. Their specialty item will be ...turnovers!
Brett Favre has become a grandfather. Or maybe he hasn't. Or maybe he has. He's still not sure The Vikings are not rushing Brett Favre. Good thinking: he tends to crumble against the rush. The Packers have filed tampering charges against the Vikings alleging the team made inappropriate contact with Brett Favre. Favre has been asked demonstrate exactly where on the doll the Vikings touched him. Quarterback Brett Favre died again today..... The Vikings have agreed to pay Brett Favre $25 million over two years, or roughly $100 per interception. Brett Favre has always wondered......what it would be like to throw to the Vikings offense instead of their "D". The New Orleans Saints beat the Minnesota Vikings 31-28, after Brett Favre retired during the final drive of the fourth quarter. The Vikings said they're a team of integrity and goals, and they want Brett Favre to give them a decision by the end of this week. Because Sunday is the start of their annual hooker boat party. To address the reality of Brett Favre's latest comback, the Vikings assigned him a new jersey number: 401K. Brett Favre is reportedly dealing with ankle, knee, foot, hip, and groin issues. On the positive side, his uvula has never felt better. |

I agree Cajun. Love Drew Brees-especially since he was tossed out by the Chargers. Amazing guy. Gonna be hard to beat those boys from the Bayou and they are in the same division as my Pussycats.
Someone should send Brett Farve a clip of Joe Namath trying to walk. Football's almost here and the world is a better place. I hear a beer being opened somewhere. ahhhhh... |

This will be an interesting football season for me, at least in the fall. There is nothing better than sitting down and watching NFL ticket on a Sunday afternoon. However, now with my scoot there will be a serious battle for my heart on a beautiful fall afternoon....
Go Chiefs, yes I live in Connecticut, but I will always love the "Chefs"! |

Cajun-if you make a good gumbo-you'll have to scoot that GT 200 down to the hood for when the Panthers play at the Saints to watch at my favorite spot-my neighbor's garage. We call it the Garage Mahal. Five flat screen LCD's all on separate DISH receivers, three refrigerators, some amazing memorabilia and the "Estrogen Deck" for the ladies, complete with their own flat screen out back. He even hires a band for the big games. Don't have to be a Panthers' fan here, but it helps. Honestly, that good gumbo would make the biggest impact. Let me know when you get settled in the Queen City. We don't have the cuisine of NOLA, but there are some fine tables set here and great pork BBQ. And it's not a bad place to have a scooter. We ride almost year-round.

I loved it when Favre came to the Jets two years ago even though it didnt quite work out and due to his shoulder injury he started throwing some real wild stuff during the run-in plus Mangini wasn't the greatest HC. I have to admit those Saints look good again with maybe Dallas giving them a run for the NFC. My family will be in Chicago over Christmas and the Jets just happen to be @ Soldier Field on the 26th December...what a coincidence

Character - does that substitute for a "W"?
"The NFL said the scheme involved 22 to 27 defensive players, and that targeted opponents included quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers, Cam Newton, Brett Favre and Kurt Warner. "Knockouts" were worth $1,500 and "cart-offs" $1,000, with payments doubled or tripled for the playoffs.
According to the league, Saints defensive captain Jonathan Vilma offered $10,000 to any player who knocked then-Vikings QB Favre out of the 2010 NFC championship game." Gotta love the character of professional athletes playing for money.... |

Judy, I can't remember which avatar you're talking about?
Out of the seven states we've lived in, MN and WI seems to be the most rabid about football. It's as goofy to me as political differences and the hate spewed. Even my mother a well educated woman does goofy things like use a GB jacket for a door mat. The world as we know it is NOT at risk of ending over a game or election. Not being a football fan is no escape here. The news during football season is dominated by a hog wrestle. |
