Well I live in Orange County and I use to service my bike at Vespa of Newport Beach. I just found out that Vespa of Newport Beach is no longer in business and the next closes one is Vespa of Long Beach which is about an hour away. I currently about about 9k miles on it but it'll be needing a new rear tire and possibly a new belt because it wasn't replaced at the 6k service cause Vespa of Newport Beach said it was fine and replaced the spacers instead. My question is, is it still worth the inconvenience of distance of the service center to continue owning the bike? I feel like I would have to plan a whole day to get my bike serviced. I love the bike but it's kind of bugging me. Suggestions please.

Don't take this the wrong way, but an hour away is still pretty close. The closest to me is about 5 hours drive from me. I knew that before I bought the bike and I accepted that before I bought the bike. I usually have to plan a weekend for service.
I am one of the people that are having problems with the tilt lock and have had to run to the dealer on numerous occasions to have them look at my MP3. Usually it is one trip there to drop the bike off, leave it for a week or so, then make another trip to go pick it up. I have made more trips to my dealer than I care to remember. The only good thing I can say is that the problem looks like it has been figured out and I can get my MP3 back to normal operations. I would absolutely love a dealer an hour away. The problem has definitely tested my decision of buying the MP3, but I do like the design of it. I would say consider yourself blessed that you had at least two dealers that close to you. |

My trip to the dealers is just over an hours journey if the roads are clear but worth it for a good dealer. I am actually going there this morning to have a new seat put on as Piaggio have said the seat sensor may be the cause as to why I am losing power now and then.

I wish there were 3 within even 20 minutes drive from me. |

Try Steve & Eric (the technicians who used to work at Vespa San Diego/Oceanside). They have their own Piaggio/Vespa independent shop. The number is (602) 643-5357
