Modern Vespa

Well, I finally pulled the trigger on an upgrade. I just traded my LXV-150 in for a 2011 GTS 300 in Titanium. It was tough to find one, but the Vespa dealer in Tacoma, NW Motor Scooters, was able to source this one and I was lucky enough to grab it.

I rode down there on my 150 and the ride home on the 300 was great! The 150 was no slouch going off the line, but the 300 really takes off like a rocket. I also immediately noticed the difference in stopping power - having front and rear disc brakes is awesome.

Oh man, this is going to be a fun ride!

I've got the exact same machine and color Love it. Hasn't been difficult to care for. Dealer told me, do not wax it (wash with warm water).

Yup I've got a LX 150 and a GTV 250 and the braking difference is amazingly noticeable.

Between the Super styling and that color, that has to be the best looking Modern Vespa yet. I am positively jealous.

Huh. That looks like a matte version of smoke grey. Thought that was only available in the weird Super Sport "new sticker = new model" edition

Thanks everyone! I had to get up early and run some errands this morning, (including getting my wife some coffee as a treat) just so I could take it for another spin. The torque is addicting!

The color didn't show up well in the photo, but it was only from my camera phone. It has more depth than the smokey grey, and is also more consistent than the photo shows. The only downside, as my wife pointed out, is that it blends in with the color of the road. Some reflective stripes should give it a bit of pop so I stand out. I suppose it doesn't help that I wear a black Leather 5.0 jacket too.

For mods, here's what I'm planning (for now):
- horn + horn light
- folding rear rack (got a great deal from VEZPA)
- reflective black stripes

Otherwise, I'll leave it stock.

Congratulations now that's a sweet scooter 8) I think every picture you take will make the color look different which is awesome Not a fond lover of gray but that's one nice color. Jealous you bet. Now if they only had that color in the 150's i'd be thinking about a new scooter to add to the stable

Very nice David! I'm glad for you--it is great when you get to enjoy something you really want and it satisfies. I bought my GTSie 300 Super here in Central Europe and I don't think it is available in Titanium.

I had read about the tendancy for the front wheel to "pop" if you cranked the throttle from a standstill so I was very cautious to start. Now I don't think too much about it even though the front end is light. But, yes, I dig the pull from the start, out of corners, up hills, and in the top end too. For a 278 cc it is a great ride.

I just ordered mine yesterday. Can't wait to get it! I saw it at the dealer in Brooklyn but ordered it from Doug at Vespa Plymouth. What an awesome color! I was originally wanting a white one but they can't seem to get the paint to match and I saw that Titanium grey and loved it.

Love that color and just saw the 300 GTV in Espresso at Vespa of Charlotte. Not sure which color is better. Very Nice!

Hey, thanks everyone! I've really been enjoying my GTS. I haven't seen any other Titanium 300s around this area and have had quite a few folks comment on the lustre of the matte finish. I'm very pleased.

I've done a few mods: rear bars, rear rack, didge floorboard rack, jettin bar-ends, fly screen. Loading up on supplies for winter mods: stebel horn, skene P3 lights, who knows what else...

I like the titanium very much - nice. I also prefer the rack to the top case. Still, in my searches the top case is only 50 bucks more than the rack itself. Sure there's a topic floating about MV on this, but what gives?
