If you are interested in getting adjustable levers for your Piaggio MP3 then please contact Pazzo Racing. I emailed them today to see what they can offer for the MP3. They don't make adjustable levers for the MP3 at this time, but they said if they get enough interest (at least 30 pre-orders) then they could make the lever. They would also need access to an MP3 for about two weeks. If any MP3 owner lives in or near the Vancouver, BC area and is interested this would be a great time to volunteer your bike for some R+D. I live about 4.5 hours away, so it would be possible for me to take my bike in, but in total it would be 18 hours of driving, so not ideal for me. The e-mail from Pazzo is as follows:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Daniel,

We are open to making levers for almost anything. We need three things to
begin.
1. Machine time (normally in the winter months)
2. Access to a bike for about two weeks
3. Around 30 or so pre-orders. Without this it is too expensive a process to
do the R+D and the machine time.

So if you are a member of a forum or a group of riders, best thing to do is
have them start e-mailing me requests and we'll see how many we get.

Regards
Jamie

If you have any interest in adjustable levers for the MP3 just e-mail Jamie at sales@pazzoracing.com. I believe the levers for the 250, 400, and 500 are all the same, so make sure to point that out when you e-mail. Just for your information I'm trying to get adjustable levers on my MP3 500. Also, post a reply here so I know I'm not the only one who wants adjustable levers.

Cheers

they are nice but based on the current prices for other bikes $200 a set. it might be awhile before they get 30 commitments.

I've heard that other people have just had the stock levers bent to suit the rider, but both my wife and I use our MP3. Her hands are tiny and mine are large. I can reach the stock levers easily and she has to reach over the bar to grab the levers. To me it's worth paying $200 so we can both easily activate the brakes. You don't think very much of it until you need to stop in an emergency.

take a lever out and go to a suz, kaw, honda, yam or other dealer and see if the can match it up to one of the stock levers on their bikes, then order a set that you like.

To be clear, I don't want to shorten the reach of the levers permanently. I like the position of the stock levers. My wife, who is 5'4", does not. I want her to be able to set the levers in when it's her turn to ride. I wouldn't ask her to drive the car with the seat in my position, so this makes perfect sense to me.

Old As Dirt,

That might work. I'll have to see if it looks similar to any mainstream levers. It'll probably be a lot of legwork.

A thirteen second look at the Pazzo Racing site put this idea in my head. They appear to make adjustable brake levers. You know, Piaggio probably did not make special brake levers for just the MP3 500. The MP3 500 brake lever might fit any number of Vespa/Piaggio scoots plus other Italian made scooters and motorcycles. It might just be interesting to send Pazzo a brake lever to see if they already make one like it. Wha? emoticon Wha? emoticon

The levers on my other Aprilia big bikes are adjustable - excellent point...Hmmmm

Someone send me a PM and in a day or three and remind me to take some stuff apart to try it.

ritchj,

That would be great to get a comparison of your brake levers. I doubt Piaggio designed their levers from scratch. I think the key issue will be to make sure the lever sensors still hit properly.

I have a set of Pazzo Levers on my ZRX1200--shorty levers. They are well crafted and have 6 levels of adjustment. They are also lighter than the stock units that came on the ZRX. They only drawback--they are really pricey. But if two or more people are using the same bike, they may be well worth the price to easily adjust the controls for the rider's comfort.

do they work on the MP3 though? that is the question. We need to find a like lever that is used from another brand that will work on the MP3.

I think those adjustable levers are to be searched as "levers for master cylinder model xxx" and not as "levers for MP3 scooter".

Someone can check and tell us the make and the part number of MP3s marster cylinders?

This list names the MP3s 125, 250, 400.
Maybe I am mistaking, but I think the MP3 500 doesnt exist (edit : yet)here in France (in Europe?).
This might explain why it isnt named in that "french" list.

The BV500 is in the list...
If Iwere Piaggio, I would use the same MC on MP3 and BV 500

I checked for a stock replacement lever on the MP3 500 and it's the same lever as for the MP3 250 and MP3 400, so even if the 500 isn't listed the lever will still work. The one thing to make sure of is that the adjustment switch on the new levers do not interfere with the control housing for the lights/horn/starter switch/etc. The lever comes very close to those housings when squeezed. It would be worth making sure they don't touch. Ayce, can you post a link to the list you found, assuming it's online of course?

PJ's handles Pazzo levers. Since they deal in scooter parts, maybe they would know if the Pazzos fit an MP3 500.

IF you are legitimately interested, in a set, send me a PM.

I don't know pricing yet, but I'd expect in the $150 US range for high quality made by an experienced company that already makes such things, machined aluminium adjustable levers.

The only levers i have found is from Titax, And i have tried to buy them, but the ansver is Titax factory can´t deliver. If some one knows if there is some original adjustable Brembo-levers wich fits would be perfekt!

i have e-mailed http://www.2wheeljunkie.co.uk/ and asking them if they actually have them in stock, cos they say on ebay they have More than 10 available.
