And if not if there is a paintable primered Top Case available from any of these manufacturers?

I have a 2007 Vespa GTS 250ie in "Vintage Red", a dark red that was only available that year. I really like the Vespa color coordinated top case they offer, but I'm not sure that it is available in "Vintage Red". So if not, I'm left with painting the top case. So Givi, Coocase, the Vespa Top Case, or Shad would be options. So the question is...does anyone know if any of the above are available in "Vintage Red"?

I have a Coocase. They are black. You can buy a primed lid panel from Twisted Throttle and paint it to match your scooter. On Twisted Throttle's site they show a Vespa with a Coocase painted to match. I was going to have mine painted in the spring but the body shop I go to was busy and asked me if I could wait a couple of months. I haven't had time to go back.
I have a Piaggio top case on my daughter's Fly 150. I like the Coocase better, especially the remote to unlock the case. |

Just a little tip, 800 x 600 fits perfect on these web pages,
As for a top case on that scooter, First you'll need a rack. I have a Vespa GTS rear rack with a GIVI E370 on my GTS, Works great with the Jettin 15 oz barbell bar ends. Go to your Vespa dealer and buy an OEM rear rack, I've had a Cuppini rack break on me in the past, They are shite. BTW...Welcome to M.V., Love the Vintage red!!! Also, Almost forgot, You'll need some mending plates to attach the top box, Go to your big box store and buy some flat metal mending plates with holes in them, You'll need about four of them, Maybe two actually, to attach the bolts through them onto the rack. You need to attach the top box plate to the rack first, So do a dry run with the bolts loose before you tighten them, Otherwise you might be doing the attaching of the plate all night. (Don't worry about the plates bending as you tighten the bolts, That's supposed to happen, The rack isn't flat and the mending plates bend to conform.) Nothing worse than getting it installed and finding the lid won't open because you installed it too tightly to the back of the rack. (Lol) Lol...Yet another edit...Heh heh heh You'll also need a couple of plumbing clamps to hold the rack in the "down" position as you do all this stuff. ⚠️ Last edited by Big Foot on UTC; edited 1 time

Pretty much any topcase can be painted to match. Go to any decent bodyshop and they will be able to do it.
That is what I did when I had my Derbi. Now whenever I buy a topcase I factor in the $$ to have it painted to match my scooter. Cheers, Dan |

With the GIVI E370 top box you can get coloured inserts,
Highly unlikely they have a match for Vintage red though. I have the basic colour and stuck with black, Everything goes with black right? |

Look at my avatar. I doubt that you'll be able to get on in our color. If you want the best color there is you will have to have it painted. Any body shop can do that.

Vintage Red Top Case
Scooter Bug wrote: I found a Vintage Red top case on line at Athens Vespa if you want a Vespa one. I do have the original rear rack. I just bought the scooter, and the previous owner had made several 'improvements' including the removal of the rack, and the front and rear fender reflectors. He did give the rack to me. I was looking to replace the reflectors, which he did not turn over to me, and they are $15 each. Not that big a cost, but annoying. Thanks. |
