Hoping someone can tell me if a ' 62 VNB has a rear brake cam? I have a Haynes manual with the blow-outs and a few other printed guides, but I can't seem to find it in these.

Maybe there is none? I am soon to open her up and replace the shoes, and perhaps the hub itself if need be. The scooter lounge instruction mentioned a cam might be a good idea to replace, but of course was not for my model.

Is there anything else I should plan on ordering before I take on this repair?

Thanks for any and all advice.

All vintage Vespas have brake cams front and back including a VNB. Essentially anything with drum brakes needs a cam to separate the shoes.

Most people just replace the shoes on a brake job and resurface the drum with some sand paper. Some folks will also replace the c-clips that hold the shoes onto the post or posts. Usually cams are fine unless it's a really high mileage bike or an Asian restoration.

Thanks so much. I figured as much, but the site where I ordered from does not list it - even with various terms in my search.

I'm guessing that other online sites our like ours, and they have more inventory in stock than they list on the site. Maybe try giving them a call, or call us if hat doesn't work.
