The Piaggio Group, which sells Aprilia and Moto Guzzi motorcycles as well as Piaggio and Vespa scooters, suffered declining sales in North America during the first half of this year, partly due to a temporary cessation of sales in Canada as distributorship changed hands, but due to a hot Vietnam market, sales of scooters increased enough to show an overall six percent worldwide improvement.
Interesting to note that while BMW (world wide) has been one of the very few success stories in the motorcycle industry during the economic stumble, it only claims a 4% increase in sales...
