Living in a city with hundreds of thousands of motorbikes being hit from behind is quite normal. It happens specially when the traffic light gets green and you start but then you have to brake/stop for any reason like people not stopping with a red light in the intersection. Most of the time it's just a kiss, not important, but today a stupid git didn't see me stopped (with direction lights on and beeping) waiting to turn to enter to the office parking because he was driving too fast and talking/looking back to his friend that was riding on a pillion (I could see how they were going to hit me through the mirror before it happened). As always, no insurance, no English, no nothing... This time I was SO lucky. I took the guy keys from his motorbike and threaten him I would call the police. The guy called his brother and I could get 50 USD after all, but it is not always like this... most of the times the people is so poor that paying for a new tail would represent a full month salary for them.
Sometimes they are clever... once they hit me while driving my old Sprint under very very hard rain. The guy was driving in the opposite direction and all I could do is just hit him to avoid falling down (that's cold blood). The guy asked me to follow him to take my Vespa to a workshop he knew, when I turned to take my Vespa he had vanished...
Well a new tail for the GT is like a hundred bucks, not much, but when it happens again and again you wonder if any one had to deal with such situation and how he/she handled it. The plastic is very rigid to stand a strong hit without breaking apart.
Anyone?
