My husband just bought an LX150 a couple months ago.
Instantly, I wanted a Vespa, too! Aren't they just so fun?
So, I have been looking around and found one that I really like at a dealership about 2 hours away.
It is an LX150, just like my husbands. About 1200 miles. 2007. I offered $2900 against their request of $3200. Should I do it? Is it a good deal? Is it worth it?

Welcome to the forum. Where are you located? I've found that prices vary from state to state. In the state where I live, used Vespas are quite expensive. However, traveling one state to the south saved me over a thousand dollars compared to what I would spend in my home state. IMHO $3200 is high for a 2007, even with the low miles. Blue Book retail value is $2795. Have you looked on Craigslist for Vespas in surrounding areas.

I agree, Vespas are addicting. We purchased one for my husband this week so he can ride around with me. It's fun to have another shared interest.

With no disrespect to the dealer, I think you can do better on an 07. I would think you could get an 09 for that kind of money. In fact I know you can, because I sold my 09 last week for $2,850 and it had a couple extras as well.

I agree with OC Dan. In no way do I mean to disrespect the dealer either but I think you can find a better deal. Don't fall in love with the scooter until you've shopped around a bit. We bought the S 150 this week for $2,400. It's an 08 and it only had 600 miles on it. It came with a sweet Nolan helmet and an all weather SX cover. The scooter is in excellent condition....just a little dusty.

Lots of good used deals all around these days. Piaggio is cutting prices (as are other scooter companies). Along with the already weak economy and cautious buyers, it's driving used prices down.

In principle, though: Yes, you should do it. Maybe not this one, though.
