Hi all,

Have recently had my LX50 2T de-restricted at a local dealer. The mechanic who did it was unsure about what size jet to use, and in the end he said he phoned someone at Piaggio who said it needed to go up from a 53 to a 60.

I'm not doubting what he has said/done, but he seemed a little unsure, so I thought I'd check with the experts on whether it's right or not?

Thanks!

Piaggio officially say up 3 sizes on a catalyst equipped machine, which would be 53 unto 56 but I've always found that to be borderline lean so used 58 or 60 depending on the machine as they do vary... Even on the same model.

This only applies if if the brass defuser is left in the carb and it's the standard exhaust still used... If you you'll need much bigger.

After it's done a few miles take the spark plug out and take a look at it's colour, and it will let you know roughly how the jetting is...
