I was riding my wifes LX150 this morning and heard a rattling noise, it sounded like a beer can with gravel in it. It seemed to be coming from the left side? Then just now I started it and the noise was worse after it started and would not stop, so I turned it off and restarted it and it was gone. Also what is the deal with the bubble? It seems like when we bought it a month or so ago it was clear but now it's real dark. I'm going to look for the owners manual, but I figured I'd post for help here first.

Thanks, Mel

I just went back out and started it. I think the starter is staying engaged.
Any Idea's?

The Bendix drive in the starter may be dirty or the spring may be defective. A cleaning and light lubrication would help.

The bubble captures oil from the air filter, so it doesn't drip on the ground. Dark fluid building up is normal. When it is full, remove and empty it. A note of caution from experience, make sure the prongs on the clamp are turned in, rather that facing out, or you will end up catching the prongs on your shoe or pant leg and knocking it off, never to be found.

Starter relay may have welded itself short. Early battery death may ensue. BTDTGTTS, twice.
