To anyone who is vaguely thinking of getting an LV pipe..do it.I,ve had mine a few days and love it.I,m not totally convinced that performance has improved, but it certainly gives the illusion if it has.My wife who likes to ride behind on her scooter is reaching for the earplugs.
I,m sold.

Did you do the battery disconnect thing to reset the ECU?

Best,

Welcome to the LV Army! I love the sound of the LV pipe too. Mine is now three years old or so and still going strong.

Okay, it's a little OT, but maybe one of you know: How much torque do you use when tightening the allen bolt that holds the downpipe and muffler together (just below the water pump)?

I did mine by feeling, but am a bit unsure how much the bracket can take.

Resets ECU stored map to nominal values.

In theory allows ECU to adjust to any changes quicker.

Leave it disconnected for 1/2 hr.

Yes just disconnect at battery terminals. When you reconnect and ride the ECU will optimise to the new exhaust. Others who have done this report they have noticed an improvement in performance after fitting an aftermarket exhaust.

Best,

Mark

Not really necessary. ECU will adjust either way, just may take a bit longer.

Google: "ECU reset" for more info.

I disconnected the battery terminal and as predicted as I was trying to reconnect one of the nuts fell down into the cavity of the bike,so out with the blutac on the end of the screwdriver.
Job done!
