other than scooter stuff?? .... whats your little addiction that is starting to clutter your house

just got ace yesterday and wondered if anyone else collected these

uum, bitsa, we need to have a quiet chat

when i was a little girl, on every birthday my parents would get me a porcelein doll. i came to accumulate alot from other people too.

now, when i travell i always try to get a souvaneer that best describes the place. i plan to someday have a room in my house dedicated to all my souveneers and the places that i got them.

heres me faves

I collect woodworking tools and machinery (lathes). I actually use them occasionally. I have always been fascinated by old manual woodworking tools, like planes. The old guys were incredibly ingenious, and did much better work by hand than today's carpenters, especially in finish carpentry in houses.

I took apart a staircase in an old house to see how it was made. Every screw, nail, and bolt was hidden from view. All done with handtools! It was impressive, and completely tight, even 100 years later.

I've never seen them before. Yeah i live a sheltered life.

It is not a little addiction. I'm 40 & I've been collecting records (lps, 45's, cds, 8-tracks, 78's, cassettes etc etc) since I was 15. I couldn't count them all in a week. I collect belt buckles. I have at least 300. I collect vintage ties. Those are my largest collections. I have large collections of vintage fans, boots, tools, etc. I don't think of myself as a collector of those because they are practical things which I use and I don't obsessively collect them (justification?)
Hello my name is Jonathan and I have a problem

I had a friend try to dismantle an old shed of that vintage on his property by hand. he wore himself out & barely made a dent in the thing. It was so well built that he finally had to hire a bulldozer to take it down. He put up a piece of modern crap to take its place. Some people, I tell ya

I collect fridge magnets. It started as a way to cover a few rusty spots on the refrigerator in an apartment I rented. Most of the magnets are from places I've visited or friends and family have brought back from trips. I have a new refrigerator in my own house now but I still have my magnet collection.

Moss... but only on my north side.

i collect a lot of PMs, but i'm kind of addicted to collecting various bars of palladium. i know, it's really weird.

Collecting... where do I start? For a long time it was toy soldiers and the G.I. Joes of my youth. More recently, it's been Beatles-related stuff and guitars when I can afford them! Oh, and old books. I think it's a genetic thing, the urge to collect.

I think it's real healthy when people embrace their OCD....

I found that I eventually tire of my attempts at establishing collections. I end up selling the stuff off or giving it away.

The one thing that that may qualify is whiskey shot glasses.
It's not that I collect them per se: I don't think to myself "I don't have the elusive and rare "Las Vegas Blue Glass with Dice," and then actively try to get one.

It evolved from trying to find souvenirs from places I visited. I don't need any more T-shirts, bumper stickers, patches (OK, sometimes a patch). But I found that you can almost always find a shot glass with a place name on it.

So I buy those.

They are rarely too fragile to ride home with, don't take up much room in the luggage or on a display shelf in my den, and come in a wide variety of styles.

They also come in handy for any emergency that can be solved (or effectively ignored) with a stiff drink.

I keep trying to collect fine wine, but every time I go to look at my collection, it keeps mysteriously disappearing. I just don't understand...

Mice, I suppose.

I collect 1st century Roman and Provincial coins (100BC - 100AD). It's all part of trying to understand the historical context of the New Testament.

I usually don't buy the fine, untouched type. To me it's more impressive if someone actually used the coins to buy their bread or olive oil for the week.

I collect floaty pens and small pin back buttons. The floaty pens are getting harder to find but the pin back buttons are quite abundant! I like that both collections fit neatly within small boxes on the bookshelf.

I have lots of LPs and 7 inch records as well but the LPs are getting set for a major clear out over the coming holiday weekend.

Wow...collecting, oh yeah guilty! Let's C, I have
45 RPM's (over 500), LP's (over 400), CD's (oh my), Cassettes singles and full albums, lotsa tools from past and present, coins, stamps, buttons, some drinking glasses, a few antique dolls, a few instruments, gemstones, picture frames, jigsaw puzzles, Josef mice, photos, old star war figures,and other stuff that I just can't bring forth to mind. I am not a junkie.... I'm organized really "BEWARE of Closet Door!"
Oh, Jane.....lady with camera collection, got any ricoh's, bell & howell, minolta? How about slide projectors? I have a few of these home stuffed away, I think 1 or 2 polaroids as well.

Sports memorabilia and debt, 2 in college and a Vespa shop, nuff said.

Great minds think alike ... Not only in Vespa models....I've been collecting Morgan Silver Dollars for several years....I carry an 1878 with 7TF (7 tail feathers is the lingo for collectors) daily to keep life in perspective. When im having a difficult day, I pull it out (the Morgan) and look at it....wondering what it must have been like to traverse my "difficult day" during that period.....It doesn't take me long to raise a smile : )

I also started buying and humedically sealing "Hot Wheels" years ago (2 of a kind)....im going to begin liquidating them soon (putting funds in Grasshoppers College account)......im gathering their are 1200 hundred or so to be Ebayed...

I collect vintage video games and Warhammer miniatures

Volkswagen toys, ads, photos, you name it. I have been collecting anything VW since my high school days in the 70's. 1/3 of my downstairs family room is nothing but VW stuff. Also, I have one of the smallest VW toy cars ever made, I'd take a photo of it but the camera on my electron microscope broke. But I really do have a very small, teeny weenie toy VW bug.

Well, I've been collecting comic books since the third or fourth grade. Those long cardboard comic boxes? I have 14 of them.

Well then you must be happy with my new signature line!!

I collect metal tins, particularly candy tins. It started in high school, when I would buy this French candy that came in metal tins. It just seemed wrong to throw them away. Same thing happened with Altoid tins too.

I also collect charms for bracelets. I can't always get a charm from the actual places that I visit, but I can usually get one on ebay that is representative. I prefer to actually get them there though. I also have ones representing things I like, like a camera, a Vespa, a bat, etc.

I too tried collecting fine wines and ran into the same problem the bottles keep disappearing.

I tried collecting Vespa's but stopped at two as insurance and cost put a little damper on my collection. One day I will win the lottery.

So for now I collect Dragon Boat or Out Rigger Canoe racing related images/sculptures.
